Less explored trek place

One of the hill which is especially made for trek hungry peoples. The road conditions are good. There is parking place at the base of hill where you can park your vehicles, if you come after 9am as the gate will open. If you are eager to watch sunrise you have to park your vehicle around 1.5km far and have to take a walk. There is a sign board "way to forest" at the base from where actual trekking starts. Trekkers should carry enough water and food to beat the thirst and hunger as the complete trekking will takes nearly 3 hours one side. An entry fee of 30Rs have to paid per head. If you are visiting during Rainy season or in September or October, carry enough salt to get rid of Leeches.

Amazing hill station

It's an amazing hill station located in Kasargod District of Kerala which is about 750m above the sea level. The beautiful land covered with grass and fog attracts thousands of tourists. Best suited for trekkers. Some times Wild Elephants can be seen. Its natural beauty makes it Kerala's Ooty.

Easiest trekking experience

I visited Ranipuram in the month of October also the best time for the visit. It was fantastic after reaching the hilltop that all the four sides you can see hills of Kerala and Karnataka. It's good both for the sunrise and sunset but after sunset it will be very dark to get down the hill to resort down the hill where you can park or lodge there if you want to stay there. A very nice and easy trekking place rest all you can experience after reaching there, Rs. 10 is the entrance fee.

An unexplored hill station of Kerala, yet a feast to a nature lover

The trip to Ranipuram was in June 2014 with four of my friends and first day we camped at Kanhangad town and next morning we started to Ranipuram by jeep. We saw only few tourists on the way and reaching there only we realized what we might have missed if we had not planned this trip. I have to say that a person who loves to explore should not spare Ranipuram. The journey through the adventurous road, the flora and fauna, the pictorial view from the peak, the green valleys, the ecstasy can't be explained by few words. If the Government makes necessary facilities for like food and accommodation and promote Ranipuram, it will be one of the most sought after tourist destinations in Kerala.
