Sahastradhara Overview

Ranked 4 of 35 sightseeing in Dehradun

Sahastradhara, located at a distance of around 14 km from the heart of the city, is a popular tourist attraction of Dehradun. Literally meaning 'Thousands fold Spring', Sahastradhara is a beautiful spring, having a depth of around 9 m.

Owing to the presence of sulphur in the water of this spring, it is believed to have medicinal value. Besides medicinal merits, the spring is also known for its beautiful views. The beauty of this spring is further enhanced by the surrounding caves and Baldi River.

The water of this spring has lime, which contributes towards the formation of projecting ridge that eventually takes the shape of a cave. Due to its medicinal properties and beautiful views that can be enjoyed at this place, Sahastradhara is popular among a large number of tourists.

Good place to visit

This is a must visit again in Dehradun. It has natural sulpher water sprig and it is considered if you take Bath from this water, all your skin problems will go. There is also a ropeway to enjoy. You can spend 4-5 hours. It is recommended to visit in afternoon so that you can enjoy the place till evening.

Awesome place

This place is famous for the waterfall and the Sai temple at the top which can be reached by the ropeway, which in itself is a good fun. At the top food is good in the restaurant and the park is also well maintained.Happy Holidaying !!Warm Regards

Beautiful place to visit

Its a beautiful waterfall in range of Himalaya and very close to Dehradun. As its defined from itd name ( meeting of several small waterfalls ), best time to visit this sight seen is between march -octuber, very well connected to road and their is waterparks also. Go there and enjoy your holidays

Went there to see why is this place so famous amongst others. Saw kawar's all around the place. Which some how disturbed the ecology. As there's Shiv ji's Temple nearby, people were enjoying the small waterfall rather than treating the water as a holy water for the mighty God. Be there once if you have time else can be skipped.

Can go once

Nice bath place for romantic couple, but there is nothing to see else and we have to reach there after 13 km from Dehradun. Not to cool place so can say if you are not interested in bath it is not so useful place, but the scenes are very nice little adventure anyone can go once.

Good place to enjoy

Good place to enjoy natural running water. It can be developed more by tourism department looking to the number of tourists. Private dhabas provide changing room and lockers on charge. We found it safe. They also provide food but hygiene is a problem. Purchase only packed food and drinks. They also supply cold beer in the water.

An awesome place

Awesome place. Away from the commercialization. Cold pure water and the best part is the tyres in water on which you can play around. But it lacks cleanliness.
