Mesmerizing Nilgiri's - Avalanche Eco Tourism

Dear Guys, Greetings ;-)Travelling is fun ;-)Travelling to hill station is even more fun ;-)It's my pleasure to share my experience with Avalanche Eco Tourism - Nilgiri MountainsWe started by morning 6 a. M from Tirupur in my bike. We reached Avalanche forest by 1 p. M. It's exactly 135 kms, from Tirupur. We have taken Kateri Road, so that we don't have to pass Coonoor or Ooty.Being a summer, the heat is heavy in my home town. But it's been a chill climate in Avalanche forest even at 1 p. Not as much as cold as Ooty. It's 25 kms from Ooty.Avalanche is an amazing forest area. Outside vehicles are allowed up to the entrance check post. The only vehicles are allowed beyond that line, which has a special permission letter from Forest Department of Nilgiri Dist.In Avalanche Eco Tourism, visiting time is between mornings 10 a. M to evening 3 p. There are many places to visit, like Forest', Amman Temple', and. Visiting fee is Rs. 150/- per head in Tamil Nadu Forest Dept Van. But if you choose to travel in Private Jeep, be cost you Rs. 1200/-.The Cauliflower forest is looks exactly like Cauliflowers without any space. You will definitely love it once you see it. It's an amazing nature's gift. In south India, you will rarely see these kinds of forests in any other place. The vehicle which carrying you, will stop every place on that route for few minutes, so that you can enjoy the view. The next one is the Originating place of River Bhavani. You can find the area where River Bhavani is starting. And there is a temple for God Bhavani Amman. (The name which is given for that river) You can go down and worship the God Bhavani Amman. Straight opposite to the temple you can view the Bhavani River goes as Beautiful Falls. It's really a great view. But there will be some spaces to enter into the river. But don't enter and swim because its danger and prohibited to swim there. The next one is final stop. From starting to end, you can view the stunning green valleys all around the way. In you can see the vast look of River Bhavani. And if you see the upper side of the place, you can find the large levels of trees which are grown up to 40 to 50 feet high. You can rock and roll over there. If you ask the guy who drives the vehicle which you are travelling, you will be able to know more and more interesting details about the avalanche forest. Because these guys are not from outside. They are the people, who belongs to those areas, born and brought up there. You can able to know the interesting information's about those forest areas which you cannot find in.(It depends upon the guy who, you dealing withIf you are fortunate enough, you can see some wild animals because it's a wild animal's valley. We had a fortunate to see a while us crossing there. And of course we have to definitely appreciate those drivers, who riding there because it's a small road which is having the opposite side vehicles also crossing in that tiny distance.Opposite to ticket counter, you can view the green valley, which is having a beautiful river flowing through. You can go there and relax in a Beautiful River bed. Lot of people used to come here to enjoy on the River bed. They will bring food and snacks. Some nearby schools and colleges used to bring their students to these River beds to make them happy and they will also used to play some games. In Ooty, plastic covers are deeply prohibited. In Avalanche Eco Tourism also it's applicable. You will be under check, for plastic covers, once you got your van or jeep. If you happened to possess a plastic cover, they won't allow you for a forest ride. Beware of that.Kindly help to save Mother NatureIn ticket counter, you will be happened to notice some photo magazines which are containing really, really, useful information and photos of a beautiful Nilgiris, will definitely help you out to roam around those places. Even, those magazines having a map of amazing Nilgiris places. Buy it; you will enjoy it (I bought all the magazines). And one more very important thing, visit Avalanche Eco Tourism in morning, not after 3'o clock. Being a deep forest area, avoid stopping your vehicles in a middle way, especially those who are travelling with women and children. And don't plan after 3' o clock. You will find a Tamil Nadu Forest Dept checkpost in the entrance of Avalanche, where a forest officer standing and ask your vehicle details. If you are willing to see the Tribal houses, you have to take a left turn (while going in). There you will find small Tribal village having few houses. Enjoy the view. When comes to the food, there is only one small canteen which is selling both Veg and Non-Veg items & Juices'. There is a Petty shop right next to the check post, which is running by Tribal women. And toilets are available nearby the ticket counter.I am pretty sure; you will like my review about beautiful avalanche forest. Avalanche Lake and Sanctury

Avalanche Lake is around 28 kilometers from Ooty. The lake derived the of a huge landslide (avalanche) that occurred in the region in the early 1800s. The way to lake is full of Jungle and wild forrest including some rare flowers, birds and animals. We even spotted a wild mountain deer. The lush green surrounding moves you from within and soothes soul. Clouds are seen just on he tip of hills and sometimes we feel we are between clouds. Cool breeze refreshes inner self. If one is in Ooty, must go to Avalanche Lake and Sanctuary.

Adventurous

Went with friends on bike. The whole ride was a marvelous one with us going through the forest. Even though the fun ends at the end where we cannot take our vehicles further but still another piece of beauty.

Avalanche spot with excellent scenic nature

We a gang of youngsters went to Avalanche by bike. We spent about half a day at the lawns near the Avalanche Lake. The shore is covered with green grass surface. We enjoyed the sightseeings of an Island in between the lake.

You should not miss Avalanche and the this forest

This is in a protected area, we went by car. The approach road through the forest is very narrow. There are a few bad stretches with big potholes in some places and it was difficult to cross those bad stretches by car. My recommendation is to avoid driving your own car unless you have a SUV. Go there during the day. You will need couple of hours to take the bus ride to the lake. We saw a bear and also an elephant. The lake is simply amazing. It is worth taking the trouble to visit this place!

Absolutely stunning Avalanche

Absolutely stunning and beautiful. Located away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this entire place is calm and serene. Definitely worth a visit. It's just 25 KM from Ooty, but worth visiting. Even though the roads are not proper inside the forest, still it deserves the pain of visiting Avalanche.
