Hotel is conveniently located no trouble in reaching. The interior and exterior appearance was good and staff were helpful and hygienic. The room was spacious, clean and maintained and there was a swimming pool view from the room. The food quality was good with both veg and non-veg was provided and no delay in check-in and check-out procedure. It was a relaxation trip with family. There was a swimming pool but no indoor and outdoor activities conducted. There was no sightseeing trip organized and I stayed for three days in the hotel. It was value for the money and I would like to recommend other travellers to visit the hotel. No suggestion for the hotel.
We went as a friends group. The resort location is interior and had to go through a small by-lane to reach it. This is on the non-beach side of Baga Road. Its not a first choice if you are looking for beachfront properties - either the big resorts or budget accommodations. This falls somewhere in between. The pool is not that great and is not open during evening. It's just there for show. The rooms are however secluded (ones not near pool area but in adjacent garden area), comfy and clean. Since we dint spend much time in the room, it served our purpose. The food is average as well, we preferred to eat outside most of the time. Overall, an average hotel compared to plethora of options available on the beach side of Calangute and Baga. Suitable only if you don't get anything else or land a very sweet deal here.
I stayed at Santiago when I went to Goa in the month of April. We were four girls looking to just relax and chill so we were looking for a decent safe place to stay. Overall it turned out to be a lovely relaxing experience a midst the busy Calanute-Baga beach. The hotel's location is it's USP which is at the perfect distance from the madness of Baga. Pool was lovely although not as big as I thought it to be. The staff were careful enough to not to let people eat or drink inside the pool so that cleanliness and safety part is maintained. The only problem was the pool timings only till 6:00 pm which I think could be extended. Rooms were basic. It consisted of twin beds in the bedroom and also had a dressing area or living area which I liked very much. Rooms have private balconies. We had taken 2 rooms side by side. One room was perfect but in the other room, the AC didn't work properly and the room was smelling bad as if some animal like rats had died there. At first, we couldn't bear the smell and asked the receptionist to change our room but then we wanted both the rooms to be together so we didn't end up changing the room. They sprayed the room with air freshener and eventually the smell went away. The rooms were kept clean and towels were changed after we asked them to. The staff was nice, helpful and friendly. Its worth visiting this hotel just to experience their customer service, though I found the receptionist a bit rude but the overall housekeeping service was good. Spa and Salon services were also available. Didn't get a chance to try it though. Food was just about okay. We ordered fries and sandwiches while we were at the pool but we didn't like it. Fries are supposed to be very basic or common appetizers which we expected to be decent enough but it wasn't. Breakfast was complimentary buffet, a typical groan style breakfast with cereals, fruits, toast, bacon, juices etc. There were a lot of insects flying around the breakfast or seating area. One can think of staying at this hotel because of its location. Everything is accessible from here market, beaches, pubs, renting bikes and cars, taxi services etc. Book the rooms in advance online through trip advisory to get a good discount. This will make your stay here value for money.
I had a very good experience in this hotel. There was no problem to reach the hotel. Pickup and drop facility was available there. It was located very far from airport. Hotel's location was very good. It was situated in between the market. Staff behaviour was very good. They were quick in response on calling. Appearance wise, it was nice. Swimming pool view was available from the room. I used the swimming pool. It was a family visit. Room was so-so. Interior was very old there. Room service was good. Cleanliness was also good in the room. Food was so-so. Variety was not there in food. Buffet system was there. There was some delay at the time of check-out. Services were excellent there. Staff people were very supportive with us. I stayed there for 2 days. Booking was done through travel agency. Interior and food part can be improved in this hotel. I can recommend it to my friends and relatives.
Visited Calangute & chose to stay at Santiago Resort for my holiday with my entire family. We were a group of 12 adults including my old granny. The Hotel appeared big and spacious in the pictures, but in reality the rooms are just about okay in terms of space with basic amenities. Although the rooms were pretty clean, I was expecting more during this annual family getaway. The resort is frequented by Russians & other foreign tourists, so the menu is largely tailor-made for them. But when in Goa you are likely to have food outdoors. And that is exactly what makes this place one of the best choices on Calangute as Britto's & Tito's are just about 3 km from the place. Baga beach where the entire adventure sports attraction lies also is just about near. Choose this hotel if you are travelling with your friends, a group of bachelors, even couples. But this isn't exactly the family kind of resort, especially the old people will find a lot of trouble moving around since there is no elevator (luckily we got ground floor rooms) & lot of undulations in the layout. Overall a good destination, but my suggestion is negotiate with the others around and you may get a better deal !.
