Value for Money and excellent property

Posted 28 Jun, 2019

This is the cheapest of the camps managed by JLR. It is situated in Agumbe. This is a lovely camp. It is covered by forests on all 3 sides and a small water body on one side. It is famous for spotting snakes, especially cobra This camp is 380kms from Bangalore and took around 8 hours to reach. It is in Someshwara Wildlife Sanctuary. It is in Udupi district and the location for the famous program Days". If you are travelling from Bangalore, pack some breakfast since there are very few decent places to have food. 1-Room: They have 2 tented cottages, bed dormitory, and 5 newly built wooden chalet. When I had been there, it had 6 tented cottages and no wooden chalet. So, I stayed at the tented cottage. It is in the typical JLR style. 2 beds and 1 extra, dressing table, attached bathroom, stand for clothes and water bottle. The rooms are clean and neat. They have a few chairs and a table outside the rooms too. Rating:5/5. 2-Surrounding: The camp is beautiful. It is a hundred meters inside the forest. There is a mud path leading to the resort and it is a beautiful ride through. The resort is very clean and well-maintained, looking at the pictures on google, I was so very skeptical and thanks to God I was proved wrong. The pictures cannot describe the beauty of the place. The beautiful Seetha River, the tall trees, et AL. They have chairs placed all around the camp for people to lounge and it around and also an observation deck where you can see the water body and the lovely canopy of trees. Wake up to the call of Malabar whistling thrush and spend your day listening to the call of the Malabar giant squirrel. 3-Food: The food, as usual, is amazing, JLR signature food, sumptuous, finger licking and there is always a wide spread of the food. They had cake and sweets the whole time too. They served pakoras and veg and non-veg Manchurian in the tents itself. The food was always served on time. 4-Service: The service was excellent, the staff were very helpful and also helped in spotting birds and trees. The morning nature walk was extremely informational and helpful. The naturalist helped with the bird calls, identifying varieties of mushrooms and creepers. 5-Location: The location is extremely beautiful. Amidst the juggles, age-old trees, creepers, and water body. You will not hear the vehicle sound, but only the chirping of birds, swishing of the wind in the trees and the sound of the water. The amazing Seetha River flows near the camp, where you will find black mahseer in hundred and several other varieties of fish, plus varieties of birds. 6-Activities : It is an absolute value for money, some INR 1600 per person per night, includes stay, food, snacks, tea and nature trail, plus some amazing naturalists who are ever eager to point out the butterflies, birds, and trees all around. They also have coracle ride for INR 50 per person and take you inside small creeks where you can find different varieties of birds. They have several activities for kids and adults with adventure activities inside the camp. They have a small little bungalow for forest officials. Areas of improvement:. *They had groups of people who played music till 2.00am and had speakers blasting music which was very close to the tent and made sleeping extremely difficult. *Also, people smoked in the resort and thus spoiled the entire aura of the place.

Get lost in nature

Posted 31 Oct, 2017

Have you ever experienced a private river, That's what this property of Jungle lodges offers you! You can simply sit by the banks of this river Seetha and get lost in nature. If you are lucky you may even spot some rare birds or animals. Try to carry binoculars for the bird watching trek the next morning. This is totally worth the money given you pay just Rs 1680 for all three meals plus trek plus Pvt river and a tent. Visit here with friends or do a solo trip! Best part is it's easily connected by public transport. Any buses connecting Agumbe and Udupi will stop here.

Best location with average food & worth for money

Posted 15 Sep, 2015

Kudremukh is one of the natures retreat. Nice calm healthy and away from city. Everybody will love this nature camp. Pretty near to places like Shringeri and Hornadu. You can as well go and spend quality time with family and friends. Food is very average. But totally worth going.

Enjoyable hotel with best services and facilities

Posted 28 Jun, 2015

The location and the appearance of the hotel were excellent. The hotel is appropriately located in the city hence I did not find any difficulties in finding it. The rooms were very spacious with the essential facilities with wooden floorings and the staff members were friendly and professional in service. The food available was delicious with lots of varieties and the hotel did not delay while check-in and check-out process. I am very much satisfied with the service given by the staff and the hotel is worth for the money. There were many activities taking place in the hotel.

An offbeat nature camp was good

Posted 5 Feb, 2015

I have been here multiple times primarily for bird watching that is so abundant in the vicinity of the nature camp and the surrounding areas. The camp has on offer all are pretty good considering and it's a nature camp and not a resort Food is an issue as they may prepare it in-house or may not prepare depending on the availability of manpower and that is a thing to watch out as the nearest town is Hebri, about 7 km away and options there again are limited and few considering it's a very small town Weather generally would be hot during the day (and very hot off-peak season) and it rains non-stop during peak monsoon. Winters are better but not bitterly cold as the neighbouring uphill Agumbe Except for rafting (seasonal) and trails on the defined tracks (within the campus), nothing much on offer for visitors and we generally visit the nature camp with our own plans and schedules Tips: It's a nature camp and not a resort, so please do not expect nothing more than basic amenities. Power supply may not be throughout and you have to bear with what is on offer Carry emergency food and especially if you are with children and wear proper clothing (no bright colour please) . Importantly, do not litter and dirty the place. It's clean, let it be so .

Excellent place to stay

Posted 23 Aug, 2014

This is an excellent place to stay in the middle of forest and enjoy nature. It is 35 kilometers away from Kalasa and 70 kilometers from Udupi. The best time to visit in rainy season and we visited couple of weeks back and enjoyed the place very much. It is very heavily raining and I could see full of greenery everywhere. Overall I had great experience and satisfaction staying here.

Good hotel with nice accommodation

Posted 18 Aug, 2014

This is one of the unexplored area around Udupi locality. Hardly 40-50 km from Udupi and has quiet reserve forest. Owned by the Government of Karnataka, there are rules which travelers should follow. Calm river flows in the venue. Accommodation is average but overall the place is very good for family and friends outing. They serve food also. They've dormitory for large crowd.
