Sela pass is amongst world's highest motorable roads. You can get herer while on the way to Tawang. Chilling winds, clouds are just awesome to feel like in heaven. Have a cup of tea, momos there for perfect feeling. Just go and feel, don't read words to feel it's beauty

Pass which connects Tawang to Raunchily

Tawang which would otherwise be disconnected from the entire world is linked to the main state of Raunchily with this pass. As you head towards Tawang you have to cross this pass. It is also the home to Sella Lake. The scenic beauty of this place is one of its kind. It is one of the highest pass in the country which remains mostly covered with snow almost round the year.

Adventurous and courageous trip to Tawang.

It's a excellent place to visit. It's just next to heaven. Roads are not so good but it makes it more adventurous. People who love adventure should come to Tawang by road.

Sela Pass

You have to take special permit to visit Raunchily Pradesh. While going from Dirang to Tawang you have to go through this pass. Height is around 13700 ft. You can see many lakes there, which are frozen during winter season. Road condition id not good due to frequent land slide.

Lake @ 13000 ft above sea level

Sela Pass is a must see. You reach Tawang via Sela Pass. The weather at that height is very unpredictable and the winds are quite strong. We visited in the month of May and it was foggy, rainy and cold. On a clear day the sight is breathtaking with snow capped peaks all around you. The Indian Army has set up a small place for visitors to refresh themselves up with hot tea and snacks for a nominal price.

Entry to Heavan

Sela pass : high-altitude mountain pass is the only link between heavenly Tawang and rest world. This pass is snow covered in the winter season. The road is very very scenic. The max height is 13,700ft. Once you cross the gate (not gate actually) you enter into the different world. The other side of Sela pass was covered with snow (Feb 2016). You will get hot tea and snacks.

High point

Sela Pass commonly known as Sela Top is the highest peak on the way to Tawang. We get to see many bunkers covered in snow built by Indian soldiers back during Indo China war.

Nice adventurous ride on Bike to Sela Pass

We passed Sela on the way from Bomdila to Tawang. Nice adventurous ride on the bike. Roads are not all that great. There are patches where it has been recently tarred and road is being widened. Pretty cold during the month of November. There is a canteen run by the SSB which is well stocked with a variety of snacks. We stopped over here for lunch and had a quick bite on our way.

Excellent place with a breathtaking view

The Sela Pass is at an altitude of 13200 ft on the way to Tawang. It got its name from the tribal girl named Sela who helped the brave Indian soldier Jaswant Singh during Indo China war in 1962 but then committed suicide, when Chinese soldier entered India, in this place by jumping to the Sela lake from the mountain top. There is a myth among local that Angels come here for bathing that's why the place is so beautiful like heaven.

Might be breath taking problem

This is situated at 13k ft. It comes on the way to Tawang. There might be a little breathing problem if you are not habituated, just don't run stay calm. If you feel sick take Coca 6, there is a small canteen on that place you can have tea there.
