Sheesh Mahal Overview

Ranked 14 of 281 sightseeing in Jaipur

Sheesh Mahal is a famous hall of mirrors situated inside the Amber Palace. An integral part of the Jai Mandir, it has been uniquely constructed by decorating the ceilings and walls of the hall with mirrors, which reflect light rays. This reflection in turn lights up the entire hall inside the Jai Mandir.

The Sheesh Mahal was constructed by Raja Jai Singh in 1623, which he used for meeting his special guests. This hall is specially designed with the glass imported from Belgium. The mirrors on the walls and ceilings have been carved with beautiful designs that reflect even a small ray of light for providing natural light to the entire hall.

A Rare Symbol of Architecture from the History of India

It's been situated at the Amber Fort of Jaipur, Sheesh Mahal is one of the all time popular places of India to have got a global recognition for it's uniqueness. A Mahal, being made by hall of mirrors, is beautifully encrypted.. Gorgeous and endearing that can't be explained in words.. Another extended part of Sheesh Mahal is Amber Fort within which Diwan-E-Aam, Kali Temple and Shila Mata Temple are a few essential worthy destinations.. Apart from the exceptions, it's opened for all visitors between 9 am and 6 pm, 7 days a week.. This historic place is a heritage of India hence I would advice all to visit it once in their life..

Adorable and memorable palace to visit!!

The pink city of Rajasthan houses with the number of beautiful royal palaces due to their vast and glorious history. Lately I also planned to Visit Jaipur with my friends. We moved to Sheesh Mahal commonly popular as the palace of mirrors, located inside the Amer fort. The best way to see one should come up with guide. Our trip was extremely awesome although we had guide provided by tour operator. He was very reliable. It's very hard for me to summarize this admirable beauty in words. But I heartily feel that whosoever visit Jaipur must see this amazing sightseeing. Also Liked the pleasant taste of Rajasthani cuisines. It was completely best ever trip for me. Thanks to the Vani Holidays for adequate support.

Best place for beautiful view

This place is located inside the Amber Fort which is near to Jaipur. I visited this fort with my cousin on his birthday. This architecture was built with precious stones, glass of hand made paintings in 16th century by the king Man Singh. This place has glass ceiling and wall with glass only which is very beautiful. To unreveal this beauty one should stand in the hall with two lighted candles by which the hall will be showed with thousands of candles lights in reflection in those two candles this is the best attraction in Jaipur which is most loved for their knowledge of art. The flowers here too are made of pure glass and precious stone, this main attraction is the integral part of the Jai- Mandir. So I suggest every travellers to visit this glass house in their visit to Jaipur and the entry fee is just 60/- for adult.

Great to admire the architecture

Here when our guide had shown us the light using his mobile and the glasses on ceiling shown twinkling stars, it gave a great experience. It is amazed to admire the architecture 300-400 years ago.

Classic and royal

Must visit in Jaipur, Sheesh Mahal is main attraction of this place, made of lots of mirrors, great Indian art royal feel. Just you should go early morning if you want an elephant ride to the fort otherwise jeeps will take you up to the fort. If you like walking then even walking you can go the fort. Great royal look of that time, it took 137 yrs to build at that time must watch.

Sheesh Mahal Where A Candle Light Transforms the Starlit Sky

Jai Mandir also known as Sheesh Mahal, where glass and mirror panels are inlaid in walls and ceilings. Mirrors are of convex in shape and decorated with colour foils. Mirrors were specially imported from the Belgium, in Sheesh Mahal where a single candle reflected in the tiny mirrors. Just transforms it into the starlit sky. A film set was prepared in the same pattern. As this is the great attraction of the tourists and film makers too.

LED light effect in those days

This one inside Amer Fort is a classic example of how people knew creating that star-lit night effect. What you should imagine is the effect when it is all dark, must have been awesome. Its all about light effect. A guide would tell you how and what so go for one when you are in Amer.
