Magnificently Pretty

It was a great time spent at the temple. We reach at 10. 15am on a friday and we felt it was a good time as there was no crowd at that hour. Some priests will try to sell gold coins when they see tourists. Not necessary to buy. It was nice visiting all the 9 lakshmi in the temple. With the sea just opposite, it was very windy and nice.

For the Spiritual Soul

The Sai Baba temple at Shirdi is the foothold of every Sai devotee. The temple bubbles with high positive energy with the sai bhakts waiting eagerly for the darshan. The best time to visit the temple would be during the morning aarti or the evening aarti of baba at 6.30am and 6.30pm respectively. If you are lucky enough you can have a darshan of complete 30 minutes of the sanctum while the queue is stranded to a still as the aarti is completed. Another unique feature is there are seats for the old to rest while the tedious queue moves at a snail's pace. Also the presence of wash rooms and tea stalls in between the queues prove an additional advantage. After, the darshan do not miss out on the prasadam served which is a simple meal of utmost hygiene. Apart from the main temple, the neem tree under which Sai baba meditated, the akhand jyot (eternal fire) from the fireplace that is believed to be still lit and the utensils baba used for cooking is kept for the devotees to see. There is also a museum and gallery which may be of interest. There is transport facility arranged from most of the lodges in Shirdi to the temple premises.Mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the temple premises. Hence, be extra careful when moving around in a group and decide upon a point of meeting beforehand in case someone is lost!
