Good sightseeing place

Very nice place to visit for 1 day trip from Bangalore. Easy to reach via Mysore road. Leave Bangalore in the morning, have breakfast around Maddur (tatte idli! ) and reach there. On the way lush green paddy and sugarcane fields welcome you.

Visit during rainy season and pack your lunch

Awesome experience with lots of fun. Best time to visit Shivanasamudra Falls is during the rainy season July to October. Shivanasamudra Falls is 140 Km from Bangalore and 60 Km from Mysore. Pack your lunch and eatables no good hotels near the falls. Try to visit in early hours to avoid huge crowds.

Lovely and unspoilt views of gushing streams and also the Cauvery River

One of the most beautiful waterfalls in India, Shivanasamudra was created when Cauvery River split itself into two and then joining after a short distance, forming a sort of River town called Shivanasamudra. You can reach there after a good long drive. It's open till 5-5. 30, so make sure you reach there in the morning or by the noon time, you will easily take 2 hours in there. There is boating which will excite you, as the boatmen take you to near the gushing streams and spin the boat for a couple of minutes. The place is a heaven for shutterbugs as it's very beautiful and it was also adapted for the blockbuster movie Baahubali. Don't try to swim there as the current is strong. There is also possibility of hiking for the trekkers. There is a big Hindu temple near and a well known Dargah so if you have a religious affinity you may visit them too. Food availability is not much, though you'll get little things like sugarcane juice, ice creams, or corn there.Pro Tip: Get out early in the morning, visit Shivanasamudra Falls and then go for Bheemeshwari, a little farther, it's a nature's blossom, you will find activities like rappelling, rafting, nature trails, trekking, jungle stays etc.

Beautiful Location, attractive place

Shivanasamudra Waterfall is one of my favourite places in karnataka. It is a bit hard to find but persevere because it is well worth it. The views are very beautiful and the waterfall over the rock face is very attractive. There are some great walks here too you have to go 20ft below the road level by using approx 100 stairs but worth the effort for the views. There's a good kiosk and restaurant next to the waterfall.

A place to play in the water

If you are fond of playing in water must visit this place. It will be bit tiring as playing in water. But you will enjoy the day, you need 1 day to finish it. Scenery is quite good, keep extra pair of clothes.

Shivanasamudra falls a weekend gateway :)

Shivanasamudra waterfalls are great to see during the monsoon season. The waterfalls are beautiful to watch and feel the freshness when standing under the falls gives an awesome feeling. It would be great if one can go in a group to enjoy every bit. Here boating is available, which will be a ride towards falls and enjoying the beauty. You cannot find any food around this area, whereas one can buy the snacks from the small shops surrounding.

One of the best waterfalls in India

It is a must visit attraction for anyone who is visiting Mysore. It is really worth watching it. Do not miss it. Prefer to visit in the post lunch time and before sunset. Travelling by car is the best option to this attraction.

A heaven on Earth

The Shivanasamudra Falls is just an amazing experience one must earn in their lifetime. We were on a study tour in Mysore, and the local people there suggested us to visit this place. We did not plan it before, so we reached there in the evening. The entry was already about to be closed, but the little we got as amazing. I wont leave much spoilers here. Take an extra pair of clothes. Try the boating experience. Let a DSLR accompany you, because the view will leave you spell bounded. Be safe, as the water is speedy. Visit in the daytime, as the main bus station is quite a far away.
