Hotel was conveniently located. Staff behaviour was good in that hotel. I stayed there for 2 days with my family in 2012. We enjoyed a lot there. Inside and outside look of the hotel was good. It is a very big hotel. Room was spacious, neat, clean and maintained. I had food in this hotel and it was good. No activity was there. They did not organize any sightseeing trip for us. TV was there and it was average. Hotel was reasonable. Hospitality was nice there. 24-hour hot water facility was not provided by them at that time. Improvement should be needed in the reception services because staff was not available on the reception counter.
We booked ticket online thinking it was a good hotel with reasonable price. To our surprise it turned out to be awesome. The room has a balcony from which you can see the whole Ganpatipule beach. It is a peaceful and we can see the ship sailing in water, in the night we can see the moon and its reflection in the sea. Twilight and Starlight, it is just heaven. The room service is okay and food was a bit expensive. But the rooms were clean and spacious. They have driver quarters and ample parking space. We planning to visit this place again.
It was found to be all right. The charges/tariff is high compared to the quality of food, surrounding & services. It could not impress us and would have to rethink about the next visit.
If you book this hotel, don\'t expect anything except a place to keep your luggage. There is hardly any staff. The so-called manager never bothered to check me in - no paperwork at all. I have never had such a checkin process in my life. I had booked an AC room for 2 nights but the AC did not work as there was no power and the hotel was running on generator. I understand power problems in such areas but why charge for an AC room then? If I had known this, I would have booked a non-AC room and saved some money. During the day there was no water, maybe because the pumps were not working. I had to ask the manager to start the generator. After that the water started. Finally, as there was no concept of paperwork they did not keep track of a coffee I had ordered just after checkin on the first day. I had to remind them and paid it. Overall I think if the hotel owners are serious about running this hotel, they should seriously review whats going on there.
The hotel where we stayed: Shiv Sagar is a beautiful property. Although developed like a grand old palace inside, there is ample scope to develop the outside space. The hotelier can develop a children\'s park, or the lawns and grow different flowers and even the palm trees for which Ratnagiri is famous. The staff is laidback, but always smiling and eager to server. On a positive side, there are badminton racquets and a table tennis table (with equipment) for leisure.
the hotel is blessed with exceptional surroundings and view of the sea. However, proximity to the beach is not as it is made to believe. You need to drive for at least 10mins to reach the beach. The rooms are not maintained, with lizards roaming the walls freely, no window panes for the bathrooms, door locks not in working condition. There is not sufficient staff to service the huge premises. Food needs to be ordered at least 1 hour in advance, with limited options available. No bed tea for early risers. The first tea is served reluctantly at around 7.30am after a lot of pleading. Overall no value for the exhorbitant rates they charge fully in advance.
We had our training program cum picnic.... it was more kind of fun experience. Beautiful place.
