Nice dam

Try to visit back side of Sholayar dam by early morning. If you are lucky you may see wild animals drinking water from this dam.You can have an amazing view of reservoir from Sri Ram Estate

Awesome feeling

This is located on the way to Valparai, this is great place we were bike riding through and we reached here, but just hits you on the face. Just an amazing feel, the water sprinkles on your face with the mist covered and the wind through your hair is just another awesome feeling :)

Nice Dam with cool climate

Very nice dam. It is good to visit during daytime. Boating is not allowed but you can see it just once. The hilly mountains, river water, cool climate will make your dam look more beautiful

Cool, calm and fresh air

Close to nature and misty winds is how the place welcomes you. It is really free of the usual hustle and bustle. So for people who like people, this is not the place to visit, but for nature lovers this is an ultimate place.

Dam is cool with all the lights on

It is good for a one time visit, not actually worth that hype. However the view at night from the bottom of dam is cool with all the lights on, it looks like airport runway.

One of the longest dam in Kerala border

The Sholayar dam on the way to Valparai from Chalakudy is supposed to be the longest dam in South India and we can access it by road. The vast and deep reservoir spread over a large area with still blue water and the green forests on the sides of the reservoir makes it a nice sport to spend few hours.

Longest dam in Asia

This is one of the longest dams which I have seen so far. You can see the beauty of the dam situated at Western Ghats. The water accumulated area by the Dam is very long and beautiful. The Hydro plant (Electricity production) is very helpful for the village which provides electricity for the whole village.
