Comfortable booking, courteous staff, good food at their restaurant. Centrally located to market, shopping area, bus stand, railway station. Clean and neat rooms with regular clean ups. All these comes in affordable rates for stay. TV, hot water was available they provide own toilet kits for refreshment.
I visited Bangalore city to attend to my personal affairs combined with visits to friends and families. As usual, I stayed in this mediocre hotel Shrusti Residency Hotel at Jai Muni Rao Circle, Magadi Road, Vijayanagar for the fifthth time which I do once a year. It was located on a very busy street and little away from the city center. Due to my familiarity with the area and the surroundings for my easy conveniences, I preferred to stay at Shrusti Residency on Magadi Road. I checked into the hotel in the month of September 2014 around 2 am which was at early hours of Wednesday since I travelled from airways. At the reception, Nanda All confirmed me that room rent was counted on 24 hours basis as one day from the check-in time. The room rent fro the Double bedroom was Rs 1616/- including taxes. He asked me the address and Id proof which I provided. I paid advance of Rs 1000/- and he did not give me a cash receipt, he told me the printer was out of order but the entries were made in the day register of the hotel and I signed off the entries. I once again, asked for the receipt but he said they would email the receipt to me and told me that computer entries are made. First I was given room No. 104 which was bad and I got it changed to room No. 101 after my sleep and rest in room No. 104. The room No. 101 was better in facility and neat. I stayed there for three days altogether. I only ordered four cups of coffees and fopur bottles of water. In the Room Service Tariff list the each coffee rate quoted was Rs. 15/-. The Room boys told me each water bottle cost was only Rs. 9/- other than coffees and waters, I did not order for any food items in to the room. I was provided with one average towel (not well cleaned with holes in it). They do not provide soap until and unless you demand for it. They do not clean the room until and unless we insist to do so. They do not change the towels, too. There were small cockroaches and insects in and around the furniture and beds and they entered into my suitcases and clothing. Importantly the land line phone and TV was not working. I asked to fix them for me and the reason given by the receptionists was there was building construction been going on at the fourth floor of the hotel and therefore the digital TV connection and land line phone connection were not available. They asked me to co-operate with them and adjust with what was available. The Receptionist Srinivas questioned me why do you need land line phone when you have Mobile phone. I said, my Mobile Sim card was not in service and needed activation as I came from outside. In addition to the above deficiencies, there was no any Internet service available at the reception area. In the brochure (leaflet) of the hotel, it says the Internet connection available at the reception area. On the first day of my stay, after my sleep and shower, I went out of the room around 11 am, properly locking the room but when I returned in the evening around 6 pm, I found the door. I informed this incident to the Receptionist Nanda All. He asked me any thing missing, since I was busy all the three days, I did not check my suitcases and bags. On the second day night of my stay in the hotel, Nanda All told me that he wanted me to shift to their other branch hotel Shrusti Comforts which was at Balepet, because of the a demand from a wedding party customers for Shrusti Residency Hotel at Jai Muni Rao Circle, Vijayanagar. Look at the audacity of a receptionist who wants you to lift you to another branch hotel and quite threatening intentions they have in their minds. In accordance with the terms of day count, on the third day of my stay, and that was in 13th in the month of September, 2014 Saturday night around 11 pm, I went down to the reception to pay the hotel charges telling him to count for 3 days until 2 am which was early hours of Sunday the 14th in the month of September, 2014 (which counted for 3 days stay). Srinivas told me to pay Rs 1000/- towards food and to pay for 4 days stay. I did not order any food items in to room service and asked him how come wring entries are made. He said that there was some thing wrong in computer accounting and connection. He realized there was mistake in his accounting. Then he asked to pay for 4 days and I told him, I completed only 3 days by 2 am on the early hours of Sunday the 14/9/2014 but he was adamant and insisted to pay for 4 days. He over charged me despite my clarification given to him. Since I was in some stress, I yielded and gave away for 4 days. I was to leave for Mysore by train in the early hours. Srinivas permitted me to stay for 2 hours, after completion of 3 days around 2 am on 14/9/14 Sunday. I asked for the cash receipt but Srinivas told the printer was not repaired still. I told him to give a written cash receipt. He wrote in small piece of paper but with no Hotel Stamp or his signature on it. According to the permission, with 2 hours of grace hours of stay at the room, I then left the hotel around 4 am in the early morning of 14/9/14 Sunday. After 2 days, I returned to Bangalore from Mysore and realizing that I was over charged and I requested to refund me the one day rent amount of Rs 1616/-. I told the Managers of the hotel about this but they did not oblige. I then phoned the hotel owner Pradeep and told all my complaints. Though, he listened to me patiently at first and after looking into the matter he rudely replied told me that actually they should have charged me for 5 days. I also told him that on 10/9/14 Wednesday the room door was opened when I returned. He told me rudely why did I continued to stay in his hotel when this kind of bad incident and poor services at his hotel. He just pushed me off saying that he cannot take my complaints. This is the real and true experiences I had this time. They don't give cash receipts, on top it, they over charge you and further they want to you to pay for the food which have not eaten, they are the real thieves. The receptionists, cashier, managers and the owners of this Shrusti Hotels are sure the real robbers. They not only rob your money and they steal your valuables. They do not hesitate to threat your life too. My dear friends, beware of this kind of hotel business people. Then and there lodge a complaint to the nearest police station and also complaint to the concerned department of the government to punish this kind of hoteliers . .
