Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple is located in the Shamanur village at a distance of around 5 km from the destination. The temple is believed to be constructed during the origin of Shamanur village, which is considered to be around 800 years ago. The shrine is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, presiding deity of the temple, who is also the village deity of Shamanur.

Recently, the temple was renovated in 2000 and was transformed into a shrine depicting Dravidian style of architecture. The present structure of the temple is established at the original site of earlier existing temple. Tourists and devotees throng the site in large numbers during Saturdays, as the temple commences special pujas to the deity. The Rathothsav, a three days annual festival, is organised by the temple authorities and villagers that starts from the tenth day after Maha Shivratri.
