Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple Overview

Ranked 2 of 54 sightseeing in Tirupati

Sri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple is located in Tiruchanoor, which is about 5 km from the Tirumala Hills. The main deity of the temple is Goddess Padmavathi, who is believed to have married Lord Venkateswara. This temple was built during the reign of Thondaman Chakravarthy and it is believed that devotees should first visit this temple before offering prayers at Sri Venkateswara Temple.

Padmavathi was the daughter of Akasha Raja of Thondamandalam, who was found in a lotus, when he performed a great yagna. Since she was found in a lotus, she was named Padmavathi and was married to Lord Venkateswara. She is also called as Alamelu Manga, meaning an inexhaustible source of love and compassion.

Shri padmavati

This is a very beautiful temple and generally but crowded if you reach early morning. The temple architecture is fascinating and is almost like tirumala. Take some time. To drink in the beauty of this temple, it's like the sculptor has sang with his hammer and the stones have been carved so beautifully. Do not miss this

Religious Visit

Queue is very short as compared to Lord Balaji's queue. Two tickets available : INR 100, INR 200. INR 100 is a darshan which will reduce your time only but INR 200 ticket is having a privilege. It will take into the "GORBHOGRIHO", you will observe a "puja session" with arati, sindoor daan, followed by giving garlands and later accepting the sindoor from the priests. For both you will receive free laddoos.

Holy temple

Nice temple situated in the heart of city Tirupati. Don't buy any pooja samigree particularly coconut because you are not allowed to take it inside. Beware of touts as they will misguide to freeze money. Recommend buy Rs. 200 ticket instead of Rs. 100 for hassle free quick darshan.

Good place to visit and have peaceful darshan

Plenty of autos, taxis, jeeps are plying from Tirupati at an affordable prices. The ambience of the temple brings in lots of inner peace. There is an entry fee for every affordable person and the darshan depends on the cost of darshan ticket. Good place to visit and have peaceful darshan.

Good place but much similar to others

5 stars for an holy experience. But the place and the system followed is quite similar as it is in the other temples. If you are having a wish then pray it in the temple. You wont find any activities that you can involve yourself into. Just that you are there for the Darshan of Maa Padmavati.
