Sri Varahaswamy Temple is located on the banks of Pushkarini River, which faces the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his Varaha incarnation. Varaha is believed to be the guardian of the Tirumala Hill and Lord Venkateswara took his permission to stay at this hill.

It is customary to offer prayers to Lord Varaha before worshipping at Sri Venkateswara Temple. Devotees also offer Naivedyam at this shrine before moving to the main temple at Tirumala. Lord Varahaswamy can be worshipped in three main ways of Yajna Varaha, Adi Varaha and Pralaya Varaha.

Sri Varaaha Swamy Temple

Sri Varaaha Swamy Temple is so precious place to visit first in Tirumala. The temple belongs to Sri Varaaha Swamy, who provided place for Lord Balaji. That's the reason first we need to go towards him to get permission to go in to main temple of Lord Balaji. In front of temple holy pond with his name Sri Varaaha Swamy Pushkarini serves devotes to get holy dip(purification by water).

Temple is good and clean

It is good to see the temple and it is so clean and most historical temple in the Tirumala and next to this temple is lord Venkateshwara temple and more people use to come to this temple every day. We used to go to Tirupathi first that is wrong, first we have to go to this temple and then to Tirupathi lord Venkateswara temple.

Worth visiting, needs crowd maintenance

It is worth visiting this temple at least once a year with family so the younger ones learn faith. Every visit to Tirumala is memorable event. I only wish temple administration get little bit more organized in controlling the crowd. Through it did not take long for out Darshan, I heard at times it can be over 2 hours with tickets. Good thing you can book lot of services online.

Must visit before visiting Venkateshwara Swami

The common belief is that, before the darshan of Venkateshwara Swami, we must visit Varahaswamy.

Sri Varahaswamy Temple

Must & should see this History related temple without fail before visiting main Temple of Lord Balaji on Hill. It is traditional that everybody must visit this temple without fail. Many visitors don't know that unless they visit this temple, your darshan is not completed.
