Usual but crowded church

Other than mall road, museum and couple of more places, Shimla has nothing else. So, this church adds to shimla's to-visit list. This church is usually crowded during tourist season, and if it's not tourist season, what will you go for to Shimla!Church is right on the ridge so eventually you will be just few steps away from it. Visit once when you are there, and even if you miss it, IT'll BE OK. Nothing to regret.

Scenic view with hostlic feeling

Today I would like share my recent experience to visit Shimla. We started our journey from Kalka Railway Stn to Shimla in a private taxi. After a 3. 5 hours journey we reached our hotel situated little outside of Shimla city. But that does not bother our spirit to reach the main town as soon as possible after having lunch. Just after 5 o'clock we reached our destination mainland Shimla :) The evening atmosphere was superb there and charging. As cold winds were blowing there, everybody in the crowd were best in their woollens and looking bulky and puffy. Full grown trees were providing little relief to the cold by stopping the winds. We started walking from mall road towards church where vehicles are off limit for the area. The shops were beautifully decorated with colourful lightings and flowers. People were sitting on benches and taking selfies with friends. So many families were seen walking hand in hand on road. Need to specially mention that couples are the main source of attraction there, as all are having best time there walking hand in hand with their wives and girlfriends. Street lights are properly lit and giving a great ambiance to the atmosphere. On that evening if any body is enjoying the most were kids. All of them running from here and there, playing on the benches, on the roads, buying balloons and toys. The distance from mall road to Church is not so far. But we took almost an hour to reach there. As we were also indulging among each other. Cracking jokes, taking selfies and tasting local delicacies selling on the road. By the the time we reach near church it was already evening time, the sunset was looking very beautiful. Behind the clouds the sun was looking red as like falling down on earth. Mean time the church was illuminated and decoration was looking very beautiful. Everybody who was present there lighting a candle outside of the church gate and walls and seeking blessings from god for their family. We too bought a packet of candles and light them near the big bell outside the church. The feeling was very holistic as like a pure soul.

Church is divinely attract and looks just it was in its initial period

Installation is little disputed, according to few this Chapel was built in 1843 and some records emphasis in 1872. It has beautiful surroundings good for photography, near by is the first apple orchard Tender, which was planted in 1916. Still this church is divinely attract and looks just it was in its initial period.

Best shooting spot

This place is superb place. I mainly asked my driver to take me here. In the 1965-66 movie "Anbe Vaa", famous Tamil Actor Mr. MGR danced near this church for the song "Puthiya Vaanam Puthiya Boomi". MGR Fans from Tamilnadu will love it for sure.

There are odd hours to visit this place

This is a quite old church situated in the mall road, Shimla. There are odd hours to visit the place, so one should be sure about the timings if you plan to go there. There is nothing much that I could describe about this place but, it is a must watch, if you ever get a chance to visit Shimla.

If you want to find some peace, it's the best place to visit

A very nice place and one of the oldest churches in Shimla. Shimla being commercialised now, you will see people everywhere. But if you want to find some peace, it's the best place to visit.
