A must-do trek if you go to Yelagiri

Swamimalai is the highest point in Yelagiri. It's a 3km long trek, tedious but a must-do one. The trek starts from the Mangalam Village up to where one can go by any means of transport, then starts the real trek. In some areas, steps are made whereas in some areas it's not. You may find ladies sitting with butter milk, Fruits etc and it's a good way to keep ourselves fresh. On the top there is a temple and a viewpoint from where we could enjoy bird's eye view of Yelagiri. We can carry food, water etc on our backpack but one should take care not to litter in the temple premises..

Trekking in the morning was excellent... Could see the nature kept as it is with very limited disturbances. There are a few viewpoints on the way as well places to relax as well. Temple we were told is only open during week-end.

Long trekking place

It was a long trekking place. Hygienic and pollution less place. There is no wild animals while trekking but less safety place with cool breeze. Only drawback is not even a single shop on the way.

Great experience of trekking to reach the tempe

The route for trekking is fantastic but it gets hotter if you start late. Please plan for 2 hours of trek. It is a beautiful and scenic and you will not feel the stress of climbing. There are totally 100 steps to reach the temple.

Excellent place to relax and hill climbing, no toilet facility

This place is for adventurers and those who want to see the temple atop the hill of Swamimalai. No bathroom or toilet facilities available and no locker hence you would need to keep your things safe yourself. There is one tea shop at the base of hill and that offers tea and coffee.

A good trek route

I went there with my 8 year old son.. Came back without seeing the temple as we went early morning without the shower. What interested me more was the trek route.
