Panchgani essence

This viewpoint is a marvel from a geological standpoint - one can clearly view the 5 high lands and the reason for the name of Panchgani. A big area to cover. If one loves photography, there's ample opportunity. Be careful of the horses which seem to be galloped by their owners very closely and the cause of the dirtiness with the poos around. Also palmists & face readers are there to entertain if one wishes to. Had tried a local ice cream scoop here and it was pretty tasty. In general its better to avoid this place over the weekend as it becomes really crowded.

Nature's table on the top of the hills

En route we had to pay some amount as an entry fee. One had to travel through Panchgani town and then the place comes where one could see several horses and food stalls. Some of these stalls offered paid bathrooms but it is complimentary if you spend on food or beverages there. We parked our car at this location and walked a narrow road to the biggest table land. The moment we arrived, we were followed by the horsemen offering a ride. We had an option, either to walk around or opt for horse ride or a baggi. Somehow, I managed to get rid of them as I was not interested. Once you enter the table land you would realize how big is the plane. Early morning and evening would be the best time to walk around. There are several points and caves one could explore. After a few minutes walk we came across a cave, we climbed down and spend few minutes there. In this cave, in order to take photographs one need to pay 10 bucks. Please beware of monkeys there are too many of them to accompany you. While on walk, you could view the beautiful mountain ranges and Panchgani town. If you really want to explore entire table land then must plan for 2-3 hours visit. In our case, after exploring a bit we rushed back to our car.

A nice attraction at Panchgani

The Table land is a key landmark and tourist spot in Panchgani. Offers horse rides to cover either 4 points or 9 points. The 4 points package is priced at approx. 1000/- per person but should ideally be negotiated to around 500/-. The 9 point ride should ideally cost you around 1200-1400 max after negotiation.

Amazing Creation of Nature

The famous Table Land in Panchgani is truly an Amazing Creation of Nature with such a large flat surface created on top of a hill. There are five such Table Lands in Panchgani & that's how the name "Panchgani" was derived. This is the largest of the five Table Lands & is a very popular place. It is a short, but steep drive up the hill from the Panchgani Market area & there is ample place to park on top of the Table Land. Just before you reach the top however, you will be goaded by the Horse handlers to park at an area just a little before, so that they can make some illegal money, but you should not bother about them & continue driving to the top where there is ample parking & it is free too. The Horse handlers will however hassle you here as well, but for sightseeing atop the Horses or in the Horse Drawn Carts. Most of the Horses are sturdy, have shiny coats & look good, so you can select any one of them that you like. You however need to bargain hard for the rates, or else you will get fleeced. Like in other places as well, there is unfortunately no Govt control on the rates for these Horse rides & Tourists often get fleeced, which is a bit sad. We normally go to the Table Land to take a long walk around the entire periphery, which must be a good 6 kms or so, as it takes a little over an hour to complete the round. We also stop from time to time to take pics of the fascinating views & scenery from the top. Truly a must visit place whenever you are in Panchgani.

Only good for couples.

Don't visit this place in afternoon during summer. Temperature is very high. Visit it only it on evening only. Horse riding is available but it is very costly. Snacks are available. Specifically have Bhutta here in evening. It is cheaper and helthy. Mountain range is visible from table land. Sunset looks good from here

Amazing Beauty of Nature

The Table Land in Panchgani is a Natural Phenomenon consisting of 6 Table Lands interconnected to each other at the top of a hill. It is walking distance from the main Panchgani Market, but even though there is a proper motorable road, it is a steep climb & hence I do not advise you to walk up the slope. It is better to drive up to the Table Land, where there is ample place to park you vehicles & it is both safe & free too. Once you reach the Table Land, you will get beautiful views of the Valley below from every spot & angle. There is also a small Mandir & some sort of a restaurant there, for which you need to climb down a flight of steep stairs. The Table Land consists of a Volcanic Rock structure which is quite flat & since there is not much soil, no vegetation grows on it. You will only find a little grass & some tiny shrubs on top, but all along the sides, slopes & in the Valley below, there is lush vegetation & it is indeed beautiful to watch. Being high up, it is also quite cool & windy as well most of the time. You can easily walk around the entire periphery of the Table Land to see all the points & enjoy the Scenic Beauty from every angle as well as take plenty of photographs. If you don't want to walk, you can go on Horse back to see all the points. There are plenty of Horses there & most of them are really beautiful animals. The only real hassle is that the Horsemen keep on pestering you to use their services as soon as you step out of your Car at the Parking lot & it takes a while to get rid of them, if you do not want to go on Horse back. A thoroughly enjoyable experience & a must visit if you have not been here before.

Good to see the very big table land atop the hill. There are many horse riding activities are there. You can see the nice sun set from the high. Its really so nice to be there in the sunset time. The small shops of sweet corns are one of good time pass snacks are very much available over there.

Nice flat land with great valley views

Nice flat land on the mountain. There are 5 table tops, hence the name Panchgani. The horse riding charges are high, bargain wisely. The views of the valley is great.

Very nice place with breathtaking views

Location is very nice, doesn't matter which season you travel. Enjoyed Horse ride though it was costly as I did not bargain (if you become too sticky you spoil the fun for which you are there, so if you cannot afford rather walk). Tiger Cave and Lake was cool but Pandav Cave was waste of efforts.Views from Table Land were awesome and breathtaking.
