Talakona Waterfall is an 82 m high waterfall, which is considered to be the highest waterfall in the state. There is temple of Lord Siddeswara Swamy located nearby. During 1989 and 1990, the Talakona Forest was declared as a biosphere reserve due to the presence of rich flora and fauna.

Many endangered animals like the Indian giant squirrel, mouse deer, golden gecko, panther and porcupine can be spotted near the Talakona Waterfall. The forest also has sandalwood trees and several medicinal plants.
