A clean beach

I went to this beach in the evening, an hour before the sunset. During sunset it was little crowded. You will not find much food stalls on this beach. One can find shells on this beach. You have 3-4 benches to sit. But here you are not allowed to go even near to the water. You can't even dip your leg in the water. They have very strict life guards. You can only sit and watch the sea and sunset if you are lucky.

Calm and serene beach

A calm and serene beach that is more suited to the relaxed traveller than the thrill seeking ones. Lot of trees nearby give it a beautiful look.Being in Mangalore, comparison with Panambur beach is inevitable. Panambur is more crowded with the hustle bustle while Tannirbhavi is quieter. Preferably visit both. Not many activities are there. Food joints are available but their quality needs substantial improvement. How to go to this beach? Either take a road route and go via Indian Oil plant along the Gurupura river (beautiful view) or take a ferry from Sultan Battery and go via the river route. I would suggest the latter option for couple of reasons. First, convenient to reach Sultan Battery in the city using public transport. Secondly, it's a good experience to take a ferry ride on the river, walk 500 m and reach Tannirbhavi beach.A good tranquil beach for people seeking calmness.

Coolest and nearest beach

Pretty close to the city, if you opt to take the ferry from Sultan Battery. Very well maintained, increasing in visitors as a result increased some basic facilities at the place. Clean, calm and beautiful.

One of the best Beach in Mangalore

This Beach is very good with less and limited crowd over here. This Beach can be reached through a ferry from Sulthan Battery with a nominal ferry charge. The Beach is really good place to hangout, especially meant for couples. This place also has many food stalls around. A very nice and tidy Beach.

One of my favourite Beach

It's a paisa vasool place. You have to go through a ferry which will cost Rs 5 per person. Less crowded and also clean. Activities like Quad biking and Camel ride are available.

Nice to visit

Very nice place to visit in Mangalore. Tannirbhavi Beach is a nice beach in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. Currently, it can only be reached by land near Kuloor Bridge or by ferry via Gurupura river from Sultan Battery.

Refreshing and relaxing

Few days back we left along my friends and really good one nice and clean beach. Less crowded and not allowed into the sea. You can sit and relax, can go for a walk. Two entrances are there, can walk all along the length and spend time peacefully. Enjoyed well, better to go in week days and evening time, much refreshing and relaxing.

An excellent beach with tress beside

An excellent beach with beautiful views, clear water, that it's hard to resist yourself from taking bath. But the waves are some time unpredictable so, swimming is not allowed all time. The only beach in Mangalore which has trees, you can sit for hours there.

Romantic place to visit

My God, an awesome place to spend with your lovable one. As the name says the sea is also like that (Thannir - Cold Water). We visited at March as Mangalore was very hot but when we sat there and we really experienced very cool and pleasant. Me and my husband took a loooong walk. Nobody will disturb your way except waves, ha ha you can't escape... :) Very mild waves in this sea than Malpe. You can spend a whole day here. Visited March 2015
