The Beatles Era

There is a Beatles Cafe as well apart from the Ashram in Rishikesh and it is a treat. Just like Beatles Ashram, Beatles Cafe should also be a must visit.Located in a narrow gali, the entry and interiors are very well done with all Beatles and 60's bands posters and memorabilia. The music is smooth and surely takes you to another era altogether. Place is well maintained primarily because it is an offbeat cafe visited by foreigners and only some Indians. The food is tasty and served in good sumptuous quantity. Tried the Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd Pizzas, both were equally good. The pastas are also worth trying. They have a variety of health conscious mock-tails to offer as well.Dimly lit ambiance in the evenings and splendid view of the Ganga and Lakshman Jhoola during the day.

A lovely experience

Beatles Ashram named because the world famous beatles Band stayed here in 1968 and and wrote many songs here. They also composed and sung the "The Rishikesh song". I had been to my hometown in Holi period. My friend and I was looking for a place to visit. I was riding my bike to Lakshman Jhula to Ram Jhula then suddenly Beatles ashram came in my mind. So we moved to visit that old ashram. There was a entry fee. For Indian 150 and for foreigners 600. Here we entered with Curiosity about this places because one of the greatest music band "The beatles" also had been here and stayed for a long time. And that was the time when they were depressed and struggling with their career. When we entered the gate we started to follow the stair then after 50-60 meter we saw some huts type structure but built properly using good material. And again we passed the another gate. From here we started to visit that area. First we went to a hall where you will find the beautiful painting in walls with life's best lines written over there. I loved those paintings and that area you find a peaceful environment and lost in a love moment if you are here with your girlfriend. We have seen a couple or may be Boyfriend girlfriend started dancing like they forget everything which exist in this world and dancing like no one was there. I think they were trying to get lost in a love path or trying to get lost into the another world. For a few minutes they danced and then kissed each other for few minutes and then feeling best of them. Then next we went to next building where you find the Sadhu and other paintings. After that I moved to other Places which is "Let it be" you can say. The name was 84 kutiya but there is one hall where you find a "Let it be" written in a wall. Two other female foreigners were there. One female with her Guitar and I asked her to play "let it be" song and she denied that she doesn't know. Then what?? I started singing as I am a good singer too. I find another Foreigner who was from Germany. I called him to join me and my friend will take our Photograph sitting upon "Let it be". We were getting late to go home so we decided to go back. But we almost covered that area. I found that place very peaceful and you can say spiritual too. It was a good experience of Beatles ashram. So travellers whenever you are planning to visit Rishikesh for Rafting or any other purpose must visit this place. You will feel much better. Thank you. So many places to explore in this world and will starts in India First.
