A cute must see fort in Kullu

Naggar fort is a must-see place in Kullu. It's style which is a blend of Europe and Himalayan style is simply awesome. The chimneys, balconies, verandah etc with the tiny and cute Jagannath Temple will give an absolute good treat for our eyes. Perhaps the word 'castle' is not suited for this edifice. There is a hotel run by HP government inside the castle and having food enjoying the Himalayan beauty is simply awesome. There are some rooms too inside the castle available for rent.

A Castle made up of only wood and stones

On our way from Manali we were fortunate to have taken a detour to Naggar. It was a quaint little place tucked away from the main road. The Naggar palace is a regal structure having withstood many earthquakes through the years. It is made up of only wood and stones I was told. There is a ticket to be bought for entering the premises. But that's worth it really. You would get breathtaking views from many of its verandahs of the beautiful hills nearby. There is a museum for those interested having a collection of weapons, pottery, clothes and such articles that were in use during the Raja's reign many years ago.
