It was a fantabulous experience. One of my best homestay experience, I can say. The rooms were pretty spacious, modern & had really good ambience. The view from the room was that of Mullayanagiri peak which during this season was always covered by mist & gave us a serene atmosphere Luscious estate greenery surrounded us. Though we missed the plantation walk arranged for the guests, we went on our own later in the day & enjoyed the greenery Arpitha & Nithin were pretty friendly & helpful and gracious hosts. Food was homely & pleasant I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a relaxed & chilled stay.
I stayed in the hotel on a relaxation trip with my family. Overall experience in the hotel was good. The hotel is located in a convenient place and they arranged for pickup and drop since the hotel is bit far from the bus stand and the railway station. It is a bit difficult without prior booking. Surroundings of the hotel was good. There were temple and sceneries in the hotel. Staff service in the hotel was excellent and quick service. The appearance of the hotel was average. The rooms are normal sized and maintained with amenities like AC, TV and a geyser in working condition. The rooms did not have a view. Taste of food was good with veg and non-veg food was available and it is included in the room tariff. There was no delay while check-in and check-out. There are no activities in the hotel. Sightseeing trip was available. It is value for money paid and recommendable to other travellers. Improve pickup and drop facility in the hotel and room ambience.
Homestay was located at convenient place. Behavior of the staff was good. Room service and food service was nice. Check in and check out process was timely. Room was proper maintained and spacious. Room amenities were okay.
I had a problem to locate the hotel. The temple was very close to the hotel. The appearance of the hotel was average from inside and outside. The staff were not very helpful. The room was clean and good. The geyser was not working. I did not eat at the hotel. There was no delay in check-in and check-out. The hotel was a bit expensive and I do not want to recommend this hotel to other travellers. The hotel organized a sight seeing trip for us.
My stay in this hotel was comfortable since it was suitable in location. The looks of the hotel from inside and outside was good. The staff in the hotel were cooperative and very good in service that was helpful. The room was spacious and well maintained. It had all the amenities in good conditions. The food was very fine with plenty in dishes in the menu. It was also tasty and rich in quality. The total destination was good and the complete stay in the hotel was worth paid. I felt the stay was relaxed in this hotel.
My family went there for the weekend from Bangalore, had seen very good reviews of this place and decided to stay there. We loved the place, the atmosphere, the service and most of all the hosts! Both the husband and wife are so pleasant to talk to and so very helpful. They personally take care of every minute detail and that makes the experience more special.
Positives:. Lovely Place to stay. Beautiful location, ambience, appearance and rooms. Completely surrounded by Mulayangiri mountains on one side and beautiful coffee estate on the other. Absolutely friendly host (The couple are also owners of the estate). Absolutely peaceful and serene environment. Best getaway from busy city life at a very optimal price. Good food. Brilliant coffee :). Its British bungalow is absolutely the way it looks like Thippanahalli Homestay website. Thumbs up is the word :) . . Deltas:. Nothing to mention.
Overall it was the first time for us to go to a homestay. We got one room in the main house and other one garden view. The rooms were neatly maintained and very good experience. The rooms very quite large, and very different from a hotel kind of experience. The homestay owners were very nice people, they took us for a walk in the morning into the coffee estate, and we really liked the place. They had some activities, such as small swing, garden where we could play cricket and a table tennis place. However, we would have enjoyed if they had some activities such as bonfire, provide some evening snacks from the garden ( such as jacfruit from the garden ) instead of normal biscuits. Overall, I would higly recommend this, as the people are every good friendly, and one proof is, they stayed with us, when we were having breakfast, lunch and dinner, which shows their care for the guests.
Overall experience was good. Just few things while providing local taste, also offer one or two standard North Indian dishes. To make everyone happy also improve upon the toiletries. Otherwise Place was beautiful and well maintained. One can enjoy the peace and beauty of being in a estate.
We found the location on google maps simply by searching around the Mullayanagiri Peak, which was our destination. In this, the location exceeded our expectations.
Superb !! Here is our take on what must be one of the best homestay experiences not just in Chikmagalur but, quite convincingly, anywhere else you could find. This is our first experience of a homestay. But if a stay in one is remotely as good as what we found in Thippanahalli, homestays are here to stay We had done our research and, going by the reviews on HolidayIQ and elsewhere, knew this would be one stay worth looking forward to We almost couldn't make it. We had planned to go to Chikmagalur for Ugadi and had booked Thippanahalli in advance. But last minute plans forced us to call it off. To their credit, Arpita and Meera (of the Aralaguppe family that owns the estate) were very understanding and accommodated us for a later date.
I don’t know how to explain…This is our true discovery of a beautiful and very secret heaven for Christmas Holiday. If you want to spend some quality time with your loved ones far from madding crowd, believe me you will not get a better place than this. You will be mesmerized with the calm and serene nature of this beautiful Thippanahalli Coffee Estate situated in the mid of thick forest (Coffee Plantations). Warm hospitality of Royal Coffee Planters Family will give you the extra feel & richness of royal heritage culture of 18th century A 4km nature walk inside the thick forest like coffee plantations will give you the some extra thrill while enjoying the bird chirping and nature’s beauty. Don’t forget to follow the route direction mentioned on the way, failing to do so you may land up in trouble by loosing the direction to come back to the estate. Believe me it is kind of rain forest. A lunch / moonlight dinner (If you can plan the time in advance) from the outside PEA BERRY while looking at Mullaiahnagiri & forest area will be a life time memory to cherish. If time permits we will love to visit this place once every year. Probably this is the best place to stay in Chikmagalur.
My earlier visit to Chikmagalur was more of a base for places around it - Belur, Halebid and Horanadu. So, it’s no wonder I didn’t have much of an impression about it. This time, however, the place of stay made all the difference. Thippanahalli Home Stay is situated right inside a dense coffee estate and is the perfect place to relax, unwind and clear all those mind-knots about existential worries. The rooms and cottages are perfect - large enough, clean loo, Tata-Sky enabled TV (damn!) and minimal mobile signal, that too at select places in the estate. There is dense greenery all over the place and every small thing done at the estate is done very tastefully. There are so many spots in the estate to just sit and read or listen to music and generally (and literally) watch time passing by! The family that manages the home stay is extremely cultured and even makes it a point to accompany you during the eating sessions. That brings us to the food - the traditional malnad cuisine is fantastic…akki rotis, neeru dosai etc. Perfect for the stomach and great for the tongue too. There’s unlimited coffee too…this being coffee country!
We were initially apprehensive about staying at a \'Home Stay\'. From the point of making the reservation the Aralaguppe family at the Tippanahalli estate made the whole experience very pleasant. The mountains around Chickmagalur was a revelation to us, they are exceptionally beautiful. The coffee estates, the lush mountains reminded us of our recent visit to Costa Rica, could not believe that we had such beautiful scenery right here in India. I hope it stays this way, the mountain roads were not crowded, this made the driving and stopping to absorb the views a pleasure. The hosts were always around the guests, chatted with the guest, shared their knowledge of the local cuisine, coffee growing etc. My eleven year old said \'Dad don\'t rate this place too high then there will be too many people and we cannot come back\' - This says it all about the place.
I must thank Holiday IQ for recommending me this homestay. Though I had passes thru this place many place, I really wanted to explore the mountains and the estates amid the thick western ghats. Thippanahalli homestay is an awesome place to be in; it multiplies the pleasure of the holiday many times. The sprawling estate, luxurious cottages, lovely view of the mountains from the cottages, hospitable hosts....overall, a great experience. Final word: If u are thinking of Chikamagalur.think of Thippanahalli Estate! (Tip: Do opt to stay in Robusta or Arabica cottages)
