Nice Shiva Temple

It is significant to the Hindu sect of Shaivism as one of the seven major Shiva temples. Shiva is worshiped as Mahalingeswaraswamy, and is represented by the lingam, with his idol referred to as Jothiramalingam. His consort Parvati is depicted as Pirgu Chuntaragujambigai. Nice temple with availability of pooja materials in the front.

Well maintained

Vastly constructed with large gopurams, going around the temple will be a huge challenge as there are no guides. Only temple where you enter from one entrance and exit from the same entrance as there are directions for people to follow. Legendary temple, well maintained.

Serene surroundings

First visitors to the shrine are taken in by the size of the temple, serene surroundings, size of the Nandi and clean atmosphere. The Mutt attached to the temple is simply grand and well maintained.

All side temples

Temples temples and more temples, that's what you can expect to witness when you are in Kumbakonam. This temple too stands out from the ones nearer to it. At times it is hard to believe these were built by humans centuries ago by ancient Tamils for its length, breadth and its size.

The best kept secret temple in Tamil Nadu

THIRUVIDAIMARUDHUR Temple is a landmark and sacred Lord Shiva temple. People who are suffering from incurable mental diseases get cured by just visiting and praying in the temple. (No need to do any special poojas. Just pray to Shiva here with FAITH and BELIEF and your mental problems, stress and diseases will be cured). Pray to God Sakthi too in the same temple. NOTE: You are not supposed to leave this temple via the same entrance that you entered. Best time to visit is before 8:00 AM or after 5:00 PM. The place is very hot during summer months (April to August)
