I traveled with family in the last week of Oct'13. There were quite a few options available for accommodation but the follow up and response to queries from Tiger Machan was quite prompt. Keeping in mind my budget, I booked the place for 3D/2N. Once we entered Ranthambore, it took us a while to reach the place as it is far from the main entrance to the Park. The chk-in was smooth and I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a tented accommodation for the first night. The tents were not luxurious but they were well maintained, the beds were clean, the a/c functional and much needed as it was quite hot during the day even around that time. The staff was courteous enough to ensure a late lunch for us and that hospitality was carried right through the entire stay, felt at ease and @ home! However for the 2nd night we were shifted to the rooms as per the original booking and very clearly we would have been better off with a tent booking. The food was to our liking, though the choices were limited but sufficient. The quality should suffice a wildlife enthusiast :-) The problem in safari bookings @ Ranthambore is that they are agent dominated and one needs to be really lucky (with contacts or money) during the season to be able to book a Gypsy online or at the Park! So not left with a choice we had to book a Canter safari :-( I must mention here that we booked 3 safaris (and we got lucky the 3rd time :-), yes we spotted T-39 alias Noor in Zone 1 because of sheer brilliance of our forest guide and driver ) and Vijender was particularly very helpful in taking some last minute bookings and ensuring different route allotments for the safari The property has been recently leased out by the current team (Dilip & Vijender) and hence there is a lot that can be done with the property over a period of time. In the current state it will do well for a wildlife enthusiast with decent expectations on accommodation, food and the overall hospitality. Overall, Tiger Machan is a good budget option with a lot of personal touch.
I had booked the Tiger Machan Resort from the Agoda in December, 2013. From the start I had interacted with the hotel staff on emails and they had been very co-operative. They also guided me through out while I was on my way to Ranthambore We were a group of 18 and once we arrived, the hotel staff made our stay extremely comfortable. The tent accommodation was beautiful and very comfortable. They helped us settle in and ensured that food was available in-spite of the fact we arrived late than expected. They also helped us set up a Bonn fire in the evening. The food was very good too The resort area is well maintained and it is located very close to the Tiger Reserve. We also spotted a tiger which made every bit of the trip perfect. The only advice to the staff would be to make the rooms as great as the tents. Its spacious but needs a little more work Thanks for a great experience. I have already recommended others and they have visited the resort and had an equally amazing experience.
The overall experience at this hotel was very good but the location is a bit difficult to reach since it is in outskirts of the city. The appearance is really good and room provided was spacious and neatly maintained with all the required amenities in good condition and had a nice garden view. The food served in the hotel was good but was available in limited menu. The staff members were quick in service and no activity was conducted at the hotel. I did not face any delay in check-in or check-out and money paid was absolutely worth it. I had been here with my family in October and our stay was good so I would recommend this hotel to other travellers.
It was a normal hotel, not good and not bad. No problem with the hotel. Location wise, it was easy to travel. It was located in the jungle and far from the city. Inside and outside appearance of the hotel was okay. Rooms were normal there but they were okay. Food quality was good but it was very costly. Limited varieties were available there. Hotel staff service and their behaviour were very good. They were very helpful. There was no delay in getting room. TV was not available in the room. Washroom was okay there. They should improve everything in the room. Balcony was not there. They did not provide any activity and sightseeing trip. It was arranged by us. It was an expensive hotel. People should go there in a group because they gave discount for a group. We went there only couple so it was costly for us. I visited there two years before.
We took the tent for stay. Tent was neat. Wash-room was good. Food quality was average. The resort had a newly commissioned small swimming pool. Water circulation was yet to start. But we enjoyed it. In fact my kids were the first one to dive into the new pool. But there is nothing else much to do. Only badminton is available. Staff is courteous but not well trained in hospitality The main issue with the resort is it's distance to the tiger reserve gate. From one of the gates it is very near. But if you get your safari through the other gate, you will have to drive about 15 km before you enter the reserve. Also the staff did not seem to have much clout in getting you a seat in gypsy if you book in the last moment Overall a decent stay.
