One of the oldest vishnu temple

Great temple for worship. One can enjoy the Chola architectural beauty. Well maintained throughout the centuries. It is believed that praying here would help good understanding between husband and wife. Tolerance level would be improved.

Famous ancient historic temple of Kumbakonam

This temple is 5km away from Kumbakonam. This is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The food served to God is prepared without salt, because this god is Uppiliappan. This is one of the famous ancient historic temple of Kumbakonam.

Very good religious place

This is one of the important places for the Hindus. Transport is not a problem at all. Both government and private vehicles are available frequently. Still auto drivers try to do business in the traditional way which should be monitored.

Same as Tirupathi, lot of activities are done in the temple

Uppiliappan Koil (temple) is very sacred for Vaishnavites needless to say for others also. It is believed that Lord Uppiliappan is the elder brother of Lord Venkateswara of Tirupati and is equally benevolent and powerful. The temple is very near Kumbakonam - say around 8 kilometers. The temple is open from almost 5. 30 am till 12 noon and from 4 to 8 pm. There are archana's, abhishekams, kalyana utsavams, golden chariot and many more ways to offer our thanks to the lord. Like in Tirupathi one can have their heads shaved. One of the major factor is that they do not add salt to any of their preparations. There are special entrance tickets to enable us to have a quick darshan. They normally start thirumanjanam (abhishekam) around 10. 30 am and it may last for an hour and a half - during this period one can have darshan and archanas will be performed only for the utsavar. The temple to the best of my belief is restricted to Hindus.

Clean and maintained temple

The temple is one of the most sacred temples in Tamilnadu. No words to describe the deity. The temple was quite clean and well maintained. Easily accessible from kumbakonam. Visit there for a divine experience.

Good to have easy darshan

This place is a good one where we can have easy dharshan of lord Venkateswara without any difficulty. We visit this place frequently for darshan, more of worship of lord and pooja.

Graceful visit

Another masterpiece in terms of build and sanctity. Lord Uppiliappan is all grace and divine. One gats inner peace after visiting this important shrine. By adopting this name the lord tells us to accept life as it comes.
