Small but beautiful

Nice time to see this dam is in the morning or evening. This is somewhat at long distance by walk from the city of lavasa. This is just at the entrance of lavasa city.

Not enough water when we visited

When we visited the dam, there wasn't enough water so that we can get awesome natural view of site, but yeah we can take certain good selfies over here. People usually stops at this place just to take selfies and to watch dhobi's working over there.

A very big dam

This dam is located in front of this city. It is a very big dam. There is no any facility available. It is only visit place. There were no much of public. But it is very good looking. Some people are bathing there and take enjoyment.

The leaking Dam

The Varasgaon Dam enroute to Lavasa is a good 5 mins halt for capturing some clicks and taking a break from the continuous drive. Nothing special about this place except that when we visited it was leaking from the walls.

Just another Dam

Nothing great about this dam, looks like any other dam. There is a stream created by water from the dam where people go to wade in but it is mostly occupied by people washing clothes. The only possibly good point in this is the corn (butta) available there which is nice.

Gives a proper frames for shoot

Varasgaon Dam is old dam which is mostly filled in the rainy season, in odd seasons it is dry. It falls on the way to Lavasa city, one can have good captures there as the location gives you proper frames for shoot. You can stop by the bridge and enjoy the place while going Lavasa.

Decent adventurous activities available

Good for a short trip (3-4 hrs) if you are coming from Pune. There are some decent adventure activities like zip line, boating etc. It is advisable to watch out for cool climate. We went there in December, the breeze was cool but the sun was too hot so could not spend much time there. On the route to Varasgaon Dam, there is a Lord Shiva Temple which is a must. The temple requires some time though as the road is not good at all and one needs to trek for some distance. Overall it is a good place if the climate is cool. There are local dhabas and restaurants which serve good food so food is not a concern.

Day tour to Lavasa

An artificial hill-station- One of the best destination for a day drive from Pune or Mumbai. The way is really beautiful especially in rainy season, extremely smooth road once we enter Lavasa. From there its 15-20 km to the actual city. The place is not worth for more than a day spend. Activities like cycling, boating etc are available. Food is quite expensive as well as the stay. Good for sightseeing and drive.
