Decent falls

A decent falls near Athirapally. Not as famous or beautiful as Athirapally but one can visit as it is less crowded and road to Vazhachal from Athirappilly is very scenic.

Good location to hangout

This is nice area to hangout with family and friends. Good natural feeling. Waterfall is awesome. Day time is good to go there. Night time is not allowed to enter this area. We need to walk approx, two kilometer to reach the waterfall location. Two views of waterfall in there, from top and from bottom. Highly recommended to keep safety and do not try to enter in under the waterfall. We need to buy the snacks from outside. There is no stall in waterfall area. Have a nice journey. Happy days.

Seriously I didn't like the place

The place have a waterfall which is below average and it is hard to be included as a proper waterfall. I was so excited about the reviews I heard about the place but seriously I was dumbstruck!

Beautiful fall which is huge in width

This waterfall is about 5 kms from Athirapally Waterfalls and one can hire an auto from here. The same ticket is valid and worth it. The waterfall looked very big in term of the width and there was plenty of water. The entire place is covered with barricades and we cannot enter the water. Snacks are available and there is toilet facility also.

Awesome view and stunning river flow experience

It is fast flowing Chalakudi River in the hills. Just 55 kms from Kochi within Athirapally Waterfalls area. There is a common entrance fee for Athirapally and Vazhachal. Walking along the flowing river is a stunning experience. Avoid visiting on weekends and holidays.

The waterfall and the surroundings are just mind-blowing

Athirapally and Vazhachal, the two scenic and popular waterfalls on the interface of the Sholayar forest are just 5 km apart. The water ripples down with great speed and the Vazhachal waterfall is an astonishing view. The surrounding forest is an excellent location for enjoying the view of the flora and the fauna of the surroundings. The riparian forests of the area is said to be characterized by the presence of typical riparian species of plants.Vazhachal also forms part of the Chalakkudy river. The waterfall with its cool, misty waters cascading down in the backdrop of the thick green forest and rocky terrain gave us a refreshing experience. The DTPC has arranged facilities like restaurant, bathing ghat, snack bar, Chinese pavilion, washrooms and parking areas. The toll of accidental death due to carelessness is displayed there but we saw few youngsters climbing the slippery rocks ignoring the warning sign which is rather dangerous. Also, it is advisable to not to visit the waterfall area after 6. 30 PM.

Lovely waterfall, non polluting area

Just about 5 Km from Athirapally falls is Vazhachal falls. Though not as magnificent like Athirapally it is nice place to visit. There is a herbal garden on way to the falls and the whole area is clean. No littering of waste and also non smoking area which makes one feel comfortable.
