Veerabhadra Swamy Shrine Overview

Ranked 7 of 13 sightseeing in Kollur

Veerabhadra Swamy Shrine is situated just outside the main Mookambika Temple along with several other shrines in the outer parikrama. These shrines are devoted to parivara devatas, out of which Veerabhadra is an important shrine in the temple. Veerabhadran is essentially a manifestation of Lord Shiva, which is placed in the outer parikrama along with the shrines of Shri Paarthesara and Panchalingeswar.

During the eve of Maha Shivaratri, special pooja is performed at this temple. Moreover, it is commonly believed that worship at Mookambika Temple is incomplete without offering prayer at this shrine.
