Our family trip (I, my husband, 3 and 1/2 year old daughter) to Lavasa finally happened on 11th and 12th of July 2015 in spite of obligations both professional and moral (Lavasa was in news for disregarding environmental issues few years ago). The journey from Mumbai to Lavasa was peppered with showers; the mountains were green, the clouds grey and our mood happy. We had difficulty reaching Lavasa as there are no road signs indicating the way to reach Ghotawade phata a landmark on the way to Lavasa. It was the same story till we reached our destination. It would be very helpful for 1st time travelers like us if we have road signs to guide us The Hotel Waterfront Shaw is superbly located with the entire promenade of lake Dasve skirting the buildings on one side and the hills towering all around. The sight of the mist caressing the top of the mountains was enchanting. I truly wish the rooms would have matched the natural beauty on display For 9 and a half thousand per night, the 1 BHK was cramped and not too impressive. The sofa cum bed, the centre table and the dining chair and chairs all upholstered in green were jostling for space. The bedroom was cosy with just one closet. The washroom and bathing area was clean and stocked with necessary supplies. I wish the balcony was longer so that we could sip a cuppa as we watched the rains. Maintenance seemed an issue; there were damp patches on the wall below the A/C. And no Bath mats outside the bathroom. On the plus side, we had a microwave, induction plate and a fridge at our disposal. Crockery was available (only serving spoons and a single bowl along with the plates). The hotel owns eating joints on the promenade especially the popular ones e. G. Chor Bizarre and Orient 8. All the eating joints (those owned by the hotel and others) were overcrowded on Saturday afternoon. It felt as if were in a mall except in the open air. It would have been nice if the people staying in The Waterfront Shaw had some exclusive access to eating outlets. The food at Orient 8 was decent. The fare at Granma's Bakery was up to the mark though we have had much better caramel custard. We were offered complimentary breakfast at the All American Diner the next morning. The buffet was strictly okay with limited options. Nothing extraordinary, very generic Since we checked out on 12th July itself, we did not get any opportunity to experience the amenities offered by Lavasa e. Karvi spa, the club etc The check-in and check-out was hassle free. The staff was courteous; we didn't really ask for any services except for Wi Fi password which was readily provided. We were given bottled water for our return journey; a thoughtful touch I must say The crux of any review is whether we would go back. Definitely to Lavasa. It was pure pleasure to walk around with the promenade and feel the wind and rain on our faces. To Waterfront Shaw . Unlikely on a weekend. It defeats the purpose of leaving a city behind for quiet and peace. And I would expect more bang for the buck.
My husband and I went there for on honeymoon and I must admit the place added extra spice to make our moments memorable. The destination provides you all the option to enjoy either with your friends or family or with your loved ones. A person of any age group can enjoy there. The hotel Waterfront Shaw is one of the very good and economically inexpensive options available at Lavasa, to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, with their quick and polite service. I would advise to visit Lavasa, at the starting or ending of the rainy season to enjoy nature's beauty and the
