Havelok Island is beautiful and your have very few options in Havelok but This Orchid resort is beautiful located and they also have great food options as well. During hot sunny day you can stay in the hotel and after 4pm, you can actually enjoy the view and can have fun on the beaches.
He resort has tried to give a jungle like feel. We stayed for a day. The food here is quite awesome and service great as compared to other places in Andaman. One thing that disappointed us was that there was no beach view. The rooms are very neat but slightly small. All in all a good place for within a reasonable price.
In the month of February, we visited this place for a holiday trip. The destination was excellent. The beach areas in this city were pleasant and good. The location of the hotel was very good and it was located near to harbour. The outlook of the hotel was also excellent. The reception staff's were good and supportive. The room was very good and comfortable. The service was good. The staff's responded quickly for the service request. The food was good but it was expensive. The breakfast was complimentary. The pickup and drop services were good. The overall experience was good.
The Wild Orchid%2C The was my stay in the month of February 2017 when I had been to Havelock Island. It was my holiday trip with couple. The place where I had been to was good. The hotel location was very good as it is nearest to the market place. I would rate the appearance of the hotel as very good. Hotel front office was very good as they will respond quickly with appropriate information. I booked my room through online. The services which were provided in the hotel were very good because of quick response and politeness. The hotel room was average. I would rate food as good because of taste and price is not high.
I visited this hotel in the month of November. It was a business trip. The destination was fine. The environment was good and convenient as it was near to railway station. Sight of the hotel was good. It was like an old bungalow. The front office and reception was excellent and the staff's were co-operative. There were no delays in check in checkout. The staff's at the hotel were very good. The rooms provided were good. The food and drink provided was good and there were no complimentary food provided. It was a good experience.
My stay in the Wild Orchid%2C The when I had been to Havelock Island during the month of January 2017. It was my holiday trip with friends. The city Havelock Island was average. My hotel location was very good because of transportation facility. I would rate the appearance of the hotel as average. The staff at the reception was good as they are polite and responsive. I booked my room direct at hotel. The house keeping services in the hotel were very good but need to extend the availability. The hotel room was good with ambience and facilities. The food in the hotel was very good because we can get fresh and tasty food.
I stayed in Wild Orchid Resorts, Havelock Island for two days. It's located in real Wild Orchid surroundings and a lot of thought and plan was applied to make the property look like in Wild Forest and rooms to appear nomadic looks. Room maintenance is very good. A beautiful beach is just behind the resorts ( 5 minutes walk). This beach is far better than Kaala Pattar Beach. I found some Jelly fish in the clear beach waters The hotel staff are very courteous and cooperative. Food tastes excellent, however it is bit costly. Pros:. 1. Real Orchids are grown around the resorts and nomadic rooms are enhancing the ambience 2, Tasty food. Good restaurant and bar 3. Quick and positive hotel staff. 4. Traditional nomadic look inside and outside rooms Cons:. No WiFi, no intercom, no satellite signals (No. Only Cable connection with poor signals. No LED TV (They said in some rooms LED TVs are available) and no card payment In-spite of all the above cons, this is Budget and beautiful Resort for comfortable stay. Newly wedded couple can worth try for a stay.
I travelled for 3 days to Havelock with my wife and 9 month old daughter. I had booked and paid the entire 3 nights in advance, they demand 100% payment upfront and the room cost me totally 17K odd for 3 nights. The hotel driver holding our name placard was waiting for us at the Jetty when we arrived at Havelock, as included in the package. We reached in about 15 minutes and the hotel doesn't have a big property and is rustic. It is green but not much space to move around and it has around 10-15 cottages in total, and is on the Vijaynagar beach but not beach facing. There is a back entrance of the resort that opens to the beach after a 2 minutes walk, so no beach views from the resort. The room or cottage is very minimal, no modern amenities. Furniture looked rustic and old, may be to keep with the theme of wild. The TV too was old but they did have a kettle and a wonderfully cold AC. The water heater worked, the bathroom was clean and they supplied decent quality toiletries. The bedding was not great, our bed mosquito frame actually broke during our stay and had to be fixed. It being a forest destination, one can expect small insects. We say 2 lizards in our room, which scared me at first but we had a power insect repellent which we kept on throughout. The breakfast in minimal with an option of potato Paratha or omelet to go with toast and cut fruits but the taste was super. On the last day they had a buffet breakfast and the in resort restaurant Red Snapper is not great. We ate once, was expensive and didn't taste as well as other nearby. Unfortunately our stay here coincided with Hudhud cyclone, which meant we experience continuous rains for 36 hours and this meant we had to stay in our room only. No TV, it getting dark in 4 pm and no activities, amenities in resort meant that we got bored and worried. Also the resort is lower than nearby resorts, so all the water flowed from elsewhere and logged in the resort, outside our rooms, almost up to knee length, with a small baby, rains not stopping, water level increasing and prospect of water related insects, I got really worried but must stay the reception staff (manager Rajan) were great in calming my nerves. They may not have the best infrastructure, but they have a heart, they serve you well and they treat you like customers. They allow there guests to you the reception phone for free, even for long distance calls (Mobile phone networks are not there). They are informative and gave accurate weather updates to us and I can't thank them enough for the help they provided in the crisis situation. They have many activities that can be done with them which are all more expensive than outside except for Scuba diving. Don't rent a scooter from them, a minutes walk outside is a shop. Similarly hiring a taxi or booking an elephant beach trip is all more expensive at the resort but it they themselves who say so and advice us to book directly. See, people with a heart and they have their own Padi certified diving company called Andaman Bubbles, which is famous with foreign tourists. I booked an introductory dive for myself, which costs 4K but they charged 3K due to in house guest discount. I paid 1K advance on the first day to go early morning next day but due to cyclone, I was not comfortable to go in sea the next day, although they were ready to take me. They accepted it and immediately returned my 1K advance, nice touch. The booking in advance is also much professionally managed with their sales office in Kolkata. If you going purely for activities like beach hopping, diving, etc and travelling as couple of with friends and then this is a decent place to stay but if with kids who would want few resort activities (like swings, games, garden to play in), then look elsewhere.
As part of our vacation to the Andaman, we stayed in Havelock for 2. 5 days and our stay was booked in the Wild Orchid. We weren't happy with our accommodation in Port Blair and hence we were of a similar expectation when we reached Havelock. But to our surprise, we were overwhelmed by The Wild Orchid. The hotel was a beach resort with the beach right at the back of the resort, the rooms were of the cottage type. The cottage was very spacious, great ambience, made entirely of wood. The room was very clean, bathrooms were clean and overall, a comfortable place to stay. There is a catch for the room service. There are no phones in the cottages and hence for room service you need to walk up to the restaurant or the front office Ordered the food and drink, but that does not actually matter much. The food was just great. Morning breakfast was a mix of English, North and South Indian buffet. They have a wide range of cuisines from North Indian, Chinese to Italian. They have an attached bar and at the time we visited, there was an happy hours offer with 20% discount on drinks but the only thing we missed here is there were no snacks available during this time and that put us off. But not even a tiny bit of regret at all because we enjoyed our stay here pretty much. There is a beach right at the back of the resort and most of the times, it isn't crowded. Lot of foreigners in the hotel and we could see they were enjoying their time too staying here. On the last day, we just hired a two-wheeler on rent available just right in front of the resort and we just explored the island by ourselves. Overall, great place and I pretty much recommend this hotel to everyone.
It was in Andaman. Overall, my experience was good in this hotel. It was located at Havelock Island. Location was best. Internal and external appearance of the hotel was very nice. I faced no problem during check in and check out. Rooms were neat, clean, and spacious. Booking and front office staff was excellent. Staff services were perfect. Rooms were comfortable. Veg and non-veg dishes were served in the hotel. Food was delicious. Swimming pool was there. It was a couple stay in the month of May 2014. It was a romantic trip.
The location is good, just beside the Dolphin resort at Vijaynagar beach. Rooms are basic, quite overpriced as compared to their standards. The place lacks good cellular network coverage and hence you need to move out of the campus to use our Mobile. Staff are cordial, reception is located away from the rooms so it can be troublesome at times. The only thing worth mentioning is the food. The breakfast spread is pretty decent, the dinner menu is superb too Tips: Try to sit at the candle lit tables outside while having dinner, you will certainly feel great. Mosquitoes can be annoying though.

Sangeetha: The surroundings were rustic and enjoyable. The resort overlooks the sea from the restaurant and it's a lovely experience to dine in the evening setting. Overall the service was good but a very limited choice of food for vegetaria Read More
