Yadvinder Garden Overview

Ranked 5 of 43 sightseeing in Panchkula

Yadvinder Garden, also known as Pinjore Gardens, is a Mughal garden. Oldest garden in northern India, it bears links to ancient Aryan times. Near the garden, ruins of Bhima Devi Temple and ancient baths are present. Within the garden, palaces including Rang Mahal, Shish Mahal and Jal Mahal are present. Built by Fidai Khan in 17th century AD, the garden is one of the most popular picnic spots.

Plants nursery, a Japanese garden, a mini zoo, historic palaces and picnic lawns are present within the garden. After dusk, fountains are switched on, especially at weekends. On Baisakhi (Spring) festival in April and the Mango Festival in June and July, special programs are organised in the garden. Flora of the garden comprises palm trees, shapely cypresses, mango and dense groves of trees.

Seven terraces of the garden descend into the distance, instead of ascending, unlike other Mughal gardens. Spread over an area of 100 acres, the garden was planned on the classical Charbagh pattern by Nawab Fidai Khan, an architect and foster brother of the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. Shish Mahal (Palace of glass), the Rang Mahal (Painted palace), and the cube-like Jal Mahal (Palace of water) were also constructed under his supervision.

Fountains and beautiful pavilions adorn the sloping ground of the garden. Middle of the garden has a channel of water. Inside this channel of water, fountains are located. Both sides of the channels contain walkways. Huge trees and a stretch of green grass line the walkways. Entire garden can be viewed from a huge pavilion.

What a place .. Just loved it :)

I guess I was lucky when I visited this place, it was drizzling and there were very few visitors. What a weather and on top of that what a view, simply loved it. I saw pics and it is good to go in the evening for lightings etc but it may be little crowded at that point of time.Is it little away from the city, so personal transport or cab would be little better to reach. You will get some snacks, drinks etc but not that great in taste etc, so better to avoid.I would recommend to visit it during the rainy season. You will simply fall in love with this place.

A Mughal style garden

It's a well maintained beautiful garden very near from Chandigarh city. Externally, it looks like a fort, but as you enter, you have nice gardens with a central canal with fountains. The same pattern continues lengthwise but in steppered pattern. One gets nice views from each level as one travels further straight.Entry ticket was Rs 20 per person. Food is available both near entrance and even inside.A nice green and clean, and a very vast 609-R, Mall. Rd, Model/towngarden worth spending at least an hour or more.

Awesome Garden with amazing facilities

Yadavindra Gardens is located just 11 kms away from the Panchkula with beautiful views and scenery view on whole. The way as approaching to Yadavindra Gardens from Panchkula to Pinjore. The parking area is so much wide as its built to manage a lot of rush in festival days like HERITAGE FESTIVAL, MANGO MELA etc.The amusement park named as AQUA WORLD is awesome. The most lovable park for kids with so much water games and rides. The water rides are slightly better as in Summer days we preferred but both rides are very enjoyable dry as well as water rides.OASIS food restaurant is the speciality of the garden for the mouth watering food.Inside the AQUA WORLD is just newly launched so the rides are very smooth and well-maintained. There is one lifeguard with every water ride just outside the pool. But there is no availability for the swim wear but soon it will be available. So that's all what we enjoyed and observed as per my review.

Located just 20 km from Chandigarh place is full of people when we got there and it has soothing environment the place is very clean, there are fountains, swings and many attractions for little ones it'll keep them hanged up. Now I visited 2 months ago around spring well this is the perfect time I think as summers is the worst time visit here we can't enjoy in sizzling hot sunshine, I enjoyed here my family enjoyed here so happy it's worth a visit.

Loveliest And Magnificent

One of the most loveliest and magnificent, Mughal Garden, situated 22Km away from Chandigarh. One of the oldest garden of Northern India. Having seven beautiful descending terraces, from main gateway, which is situated at the highest terrace, and the pathways. This Garden is enclosed by a thick and high wall, constructed by stone and mortar. Having elegantly planted trees and flowers either side. This was the place of Pandava's stay during exile, and the present design and landscaping was done by Fidai Khan, in 17th Century and he was a trusted commander of Emperor Aurangzeb, and great Architect too, who designed the Shahi Mosque, In Lahore. Man made waterfalls and for water cascading specially carved stone slabs are used. Beautiful garden, here it recreates and rejuvenate you.
