HolidayIQ Traveller Divya Chadha says, "1.The place doesnt even look like a hill station [except the small climbing of the mountain to reach] 2. There is absolutely nothing to do around the place except 1 lame lake! 3. No good food options 4. The weather is not even COLD! 5. Very poor hotel options except 1 or 2 However, if you just want to visit some place, check in to a ok-ok hotel and relax, it could be considered. But i would definitely avoid it!"

2. Mahabaleshwar

HolidayIQ Traveller Suhani Mahipal says, "The regular tourist spots are not much to my liking. Rather, taking long walks on a winter morning is more scenic and relaxing. They are a waste of time. Shopping for fresh strawberries, strawberry produces is what I did. Besides that, nothing much is available here."

3. Pachmarhi

HolidayIQ Traveller Sudipta says, "In my words, Pachmarhi is not like other hill stations where you can find high hills, clouds touching your body or wooden houses on different layers of hills. There are limited activities you can do here."

4. Shimla

HolidayIQ Traveller Renu Gautam says, "Shimla is just ok but places near Shimla like Chali, Kufri, Kasauli are far better. There is not much to do here except touristy things like shopping and visiting a few sightseeing places."

5. Matheran

HolidayIQ Traveller Sunita says, "I understand it's cool and nice. But people should go to other hill stations near Mumbai instead or any other place but Matheran. There's nothing to do here but waste money on travel and hotels."

HolidayIQ Traveller Sarit Ratidya, "Yercaud a small hill station. The last option if you really want to get out for a one-night trip. There isn't much to do there for more than a day anyway."

7. Elephanta Caves

HolidayIQ Traveller Chintu says, "Elephanta Caves is an over-rated tourist destination 1hr away from Mumbai by a ferry which you need to take from the Gateway Of India. They charge Rs. 120 for a return trip. However once you are in the boat if you need to sit on the higher level of the boat they charge you Rs 10 extra per head which is just day light robbery by the boat attendant to make some quick bucks. Once you get there..you are greeted by the toy train which caters to all who believe in conserving their energy...however they charge you Rs. 10 per head for this too. If you choose to walk you will come across a lot of small stalls on route where you will find highly overpriced artefacts which is mainly aimed at gullible foreigners..but if you bargain you could pull off quite a good deal.. You have to pay Rs 5 once you have to actually enter the pathway to the caves. You have to walk up a highly commercialised path up towards the entrance of the caves. At these shops you can bargain and get things for 3/4th the price they quote. Once you reach the top of the path you need to pay Rs 10 to enter the caves.  There are a total of 5 caves to be seen. The sculptures were disfigured but the good news is that they are being restored."
