Sea | Sunset | Shopping | Beer

HolidayIQ Reviewer Mihir Oswal says, “Few of the Goas most happening places and shacks are located at this beach including prominent names like Brittos, Titos, Mambos, Cafe Capetown, St. Anthony, Le Palms, Ronils etc. There are plenty of really good shacks as well some being open 24 hours during peak seasons and some weekends! The sunset you see from here is mesmerizing. I prefer going to Brittos just chilling and enjoying the evening. There are lots of nice resorts and hotels as well near Baga Beach where one can relax and enjoy scenic beauty of this place. The area is safe even in late hours as there is a constant flow of people in this area. This area also has a few vegetarian restaurants that are really good.” Read Full Review

A feature which a few shacks have added is a bamboo terrace, which can be climbed up to enjoy the view. We spent most of our evenings on this terrace – a nice place to sleep/read/eat in peace while still enjoying the sea.” Read Full Review

Beach | Sea | Hill | Shack

HolidayIQ Reviewer Saurav Mishra shares, “ It's rite next to Baga, towards the north, separated by a cliff and a rivulet. Lots of shacks and restaurants (plenty of cuisine options). The beach is pretty safe and clean, with a gradual gradient. Almost all shacks have something brilliant to offer in terms of ambiance, service and quality of food. Shopaholics can also be engrossed in buying all sorts of things, from dresses to smoking pipes to jewellery ... you name it they have it (the entire shopping lane is 5-8 ft wide and around 100 mts long and is right beside the beach!). No commercial sports and no similar sort of entertainment (something which i like about this place).” Read Full Review

Beach | Cliff | Sea | Shack

HolidayIQ Reviewer Nish Shah adds, “It's a mini Goa with shacks on the beach. You have quite a few activities too. You can as well go atop the hill and view the beach from above. It's a spectacular horizon to watch from atop the hill. A must go for beach lovers and someone looking for a good time, be it a solo traveller or couples seeking to rejoice and cherish....Varkala, a name not known or heard of to most public. It is one of the understated beaches, which is good if you ask me, it's a lot cleaner, fresher, less crowded. It is one of those beautiful beaches which also makes it to the top 10 best beaches of India. ” Read Full Review
