HolidayIQ Traveller tanvi Mestry from Mumbai shares, “My main purpose for visiting Auli was my strong desire to learn skiing. Prior to Auli I had tried a cheaper option to learn skiing in Manali but it wasn't worth it. Post that, my past 2 visits to Auli in consecutive winters have given me the best experience of skiing. I opted to enrol for a 7 day course at GMVN (Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam). The cost was worth every bit of the service provided. The slopes are beautiful! and the sight of Nanda Devi is breathtaking.”

When you’re young there is not much to lose but more to gain. This is the time to embrace the present and stop worrying about the future, this is the time when you afford to make mistakes, get into trouble and learn to live as freely as possible.

HolidayIQ Traveller Sangeeta Das from Bangalore shares, “I am just back from the Chadar Trek on the frozen Zanskar river near Leh. The Chadar refers to the hardened sheet of snow on the Zanskar river which forms every winter. It's been a week, I am nursing numb fingers from my brief sojourn in heavens but all I can say is that in the magic pot between the greater Himalayas, some sunshine, some snow, a little bit of ice and a generous dose of turquoise blue water thrown in !! is the magic potion to take you straight to heaven. It is a 7 day trek on snow, ice sheets, rocky cliffs and icy water, braving temperatures between -5 degrees and -25 degrees. Sometimes it is physically challenging, sometimes mentally during the nearly 75-80 km route so it is best to prepare for a few months before heading out to this magical land. Cold weather can be easily conquered with the right kind of clothing and gum boots are the best for this terrain for this once in a lifetime experience. This cannot be done alone and you need to travel in a group with porters, cooks and a guide for company.”
