Coloured by the Indian independence struggle, the Aga Khan Palace, Pune is the very same building that was used as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi’s prison in Pune. The palace has a rich history and even today continues to spread Gandhi’s work and his message.

HolidayIQ traveller Karthik Lakhotia from Bangalore shares, “As the title suggests, it's not a very grand place. Mahatma Gandhi was kept here as a prisoner and they have created a museum at the palace centered around him. The 'samadhis' of Kasturba Gandhi and Mahadev Desai are also located at this palace only. The gardens are very plush and well maintained. They are a significant part of the scenic beauty of palace. You might not take a lot of time to finish sightseeing here but you can sure rest quite well at the gardens. There is a small canteen at the back where one can eat as well.”
