Ruppur is a quaint village in the Ranaghat district of West Bengal. Covered with beautiful mustard fields, known for its sweet dishes, wide variety of flowers and its handloom industry, it is a perfect place for romance in a rural setting. Dzukou Valley is renowned for its trekking trails and is frequented by adventure seekers visiting Kohima. HolidayIQ reviewer Mayank says, "This is a valley atop the hills which blooms exotic flowers during the monsoon season which is generally from July-September, so that's the best time to visit. We stayed there overnight in the government dormitory and lived the night with the caretakers. Carry food if you intend to stay overnight. The dormitory charges are really cheap at 50 per head per night for a common hall space."

Must-see: Kohima Museum, Naga Bazzar, Ruzaphema, Tuophema, War Cemetery, Catholic Church among others.

How to reach: By train: the nearest station is Dimapur, at a distance of 47 kms from Kohima.

Srinagar is known for it's historic gardens, beautiful houseboats, meandering river and pleasant climate. It is packed with enthralling valleys and surrounded by lush green hills. HolidayIQ reviewer Nur Khalisaah says, “Though most trees are bare, one can't help but marvel at the beauty of the Dal Lake and its surroundings. You can even shop while travelling on the shikhara because they have mobile 'bazaar' on their shikara. Laze about in the houseboat while sipping the Kashmiri tea.”

Dal Lake is a beautiful sheet of water reflecting the carved wooden balconies of the houseboats and the misty peaks of the Pir Panjal Mountains around.

Must-see: Shankaracharya Temple, Mughal Gardens, Nishat Bagh, Sonamarg, Indira Gandhi Tulip Garden, Amarnath Cave among others.

Lavasa is among the first planned cities in India, located in the Pune district of Maharashtra. It is popular because of the mountains and valleys that surround the region. HolidayIQ reviewer Keith says, "A fantastic city built around water, has 3 major hotels, a whole senior citizen's complex with beautiful row houses and bungalows, has their own security services, fire brigade station, hotel management and business management schools, a beautiful promenade, adventure sports and various other activities."

In one line, Sandakphu is a picturesque snow-capped land, a trekker’s paradise where flora and fauna take one's breath away with their ethereal beauty. HolidayIQ reviewer Biswajit says, "Some of the greatest peaks that can be seen from here include the Mt Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Pandim, Three Sisters, Kumbhakarna, etc. The trek route to Sandakphu and beyond to Phalut starts from a place called Manebhanjan, a small village located at an altitude of 7054 ft." This trail is filled with bright pink Rhododendron flowers that stretch for many miles.

Trekker’s huts are available for rent on the way and these are well-maintained and clean. "From the lush green meadows to the dense jungles which lead to the snow laden summit. It would be unfair to categorise Sandakphu as a sightseeing destination because it's surely more than that. The trek route of Sandakphu is a paradise."

Must-see: Tiger Hill, Toy Train, The Mall and Chowrasta, Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop, Singhalia National Park, Latpanchar, Ghanti Dara, Batashiya Loop.

How to reach: It takes about 4 hours to reach by car, from Darjeeling
