1. You can fly solo here!

If you’re planning to go on a solo adventure, all roads lead to Thailand, the ‘Land of Smiles’. The country's friendly people are known to be hospitable and to lend a helping hand to bridge language barriers when you ask for directions. They also give terrific and unique local insights for a true Thai experience.

Most of the tourists in Thailand are sociable and believe in the concept of assisting fellow travellers. So if you’re going to Thailand alone, the chances of making some friends are high.

HolidayIQ traveller Soma Dutta says ‘Thailand was the first time I took a solo trip ever. I chose Thailand because I’ve heard that it is very safe. It was easy figuring out things on your own. This is one country, that will always be special to me.”

2. Safety first, Thailand must!

Wouldn’t you like to travel to a city where you feel extremely safe? Well, that’s Thailand for you. A lot of women like how they can feel free to wear whatever they want (except at Temples where they expect you to be fully clothed).

The top-notch transport system, buzzing streets, coupled with some basic safety sense will help you feel safe as you explore the city from morning to night.

HolidayIQ traveller Surabhi says “It was a wild and carefree all girls trip! We dressed up the way we wanted and felt safe even after partying all night long.”

3. Unwind, party and trek, yes, you can have it all!

Koh Phangan, a double personality beach where you can laze on the beach or dive into turquoise waters during the day, and go for the famous ‘full moon party’ at night with 30,000 people. Now that’s what we call a holiday done right.

If you’re into jungle trails, hiking, waterfalls, snorkelling and diving, don’t worry Koh Phangan has something for everyone to have fun on the island.

HolidayIQ traveller Deepika Rout says “I am happy I went for the Full Moon all-night beach party that happens on a full moon every month in Haad Rin, Koh Phangan. The music was essentially dance and psy, with a lot of people participating in fire dancing and water slides.”

4. Fried grasshoppers anyone?

‘Why have one when you can have many?’ is the perfect thing to say when in Thailand. Just the sight and aromas of sizzling street foods like fried worms, scorpion, takatan (grasshoppers), pork skewer, fried banana, and Thai crepes, to name a few will get you excited.

Some of these dishes may sound quirky but don’t let that dispirit you as most of them are extremely tasty and bizarrely nutritious. Now, leave your fear behind and give these Thai food dishes a try.

HolidayIQ traveller Shilpa says “I tried fried scorpions for the first time. It was crunchy and the flavour was interesting. All the varieties of food stood out for me.”

In the beginning, we said the start of your Thailand trip could be free and we meant it! Thailand has waived off its visa-on-arrival fee until April 30th. Yes, you read that right, no visa fee.

HolidayIQ traveller Carishma says “My girlfriends and I decided on a last minute (yolo!) trip to Thailand, not having to pay for the visa made it so much easier!”

Thailand has always been a country which is light-on-your budget. Thanks to visa-on-arrival, last minute and spontaneous plans are possible. And the no visa fee, just adds to making this country even more awesome.

So, ladies, it’s time for you to open to the new shades of Thailand on your next girls’ trip. If you haven’t been there, then this is the sign you’ve been waiting for, and for the ones who have already been to Thailand, a different and another exciting episode awaits!
