Calangute attracted more tourists due to its invasion by the Portuguese.The beach is a 4-mile long stretch that lies between Candolim and Baga. HolidayIQ reviewer Vinod believes that the beach is "fantastic," and he further says, "We had lots of activities on the beach - para diving, boat ride/speed boat, snake ride, etc.

Pramod shares on HolidayIQ, "Calangute is a nice place for couple, family and the honeymooners. The beach is very nice. There are so many places to see here. The ancient fort like Aguada Fort is a worthy visit.Church of St. Alex and the Kerkar Art Complex are also worth a visit. 

How to get there: Dabolim Airport serves as the closest airport to reach Calangute, which is 29 km away from Panaji. Karmali is the nearest railway station at a distance of 11 km away from Panaji.

Baga is essentially an extension of the Calangute of Goa, which is just 2 km south of the village. The beach, situated just opposite the hamlet, is known for its brown sands and the Baga Creek. HolidayIQ reviewer Karan says, "Awesome shacks available, so there are no worries about food on the beach. It is one of the cleaner beaches of Goa. All sports activities available there including sunbathing facility."

The Mandovi River and Zuari River flow on the sides of the beach with backwater crocodiles and dolphins attracting tourists year-round. It is a popular fishing beach, with black rocks bordering the coastline.  Anup shares on HolidayIQ, "Jetski, banana and parasailing rides were awesome." The Baga beach is famous for its nightlife, shopping and food joints as well.

The capital city of Goa, Panjim is a must for tourists who wants to experience the flamboyant culture. Sudhakar shares on HolidayIQ, "All casinos are located in this place, especially those which runs on ships and attract more tourists. It's a little expensive for stay compared to other places."

How to get there: You can take a bus to Panjim. The Kadamba Bus Terminal is located near the city. Margao railway station is the nearest railway station and is located 39kms from Panjim. It does not have an airport. Dabolim Airport serves as the closest airport which is 29 km away.

Fr. Abbe Faria, the father of Hypnotism was born right here on this beach. Peculiar as it may be, the Candolim Beach attracts a diverse crowd of youngsters, monks, artists, seers, researchers and tourists. Pandit shares on HolidayIQ, 'I like the Candolim beach because its quiet compared to other beaches and there is absolutely no disturbance." HolidayIQ reviewer Vibha feels that the "water sports are the cheapest" here. 

HolidayIQ reviewer Debraj says, "Plenty of shacks available on the beach. They serve you food, drinks and cot to relax on the beach itself. In the evening the atmosphere gets amazing. You can book a table with candle light and spend some romantic time."

How to get there: Candolim Beach is situated very close to Aguada Fort and is well connected to Mapusa and Calangute by bus. The KTC bus station, which is an interstate bus station, is at Mapusa. The nearest airport is Dabolim Airport and Karmali is the nearest railway station at a distance of 11 km away from Panaji.

The price of Rs.150 per head is fairly reasonable, but might be higher in the peak tourist season in Dec/Jan."
