6 Real Travel Stories That Will get you off Your Couch on the Road! Foodandphotosrtw.com

“I wish i could screw this and see the world!”, how many times have we heard or said this out loud! We dream of places we would wish to be at but get caught up in our little worlds of EMI’s, deadlines and impressing our, so called, friends, forgetting that we have such little time on this planet! It takes a whole lot of passion and guts to leave life as we know it to go out and explore the world, create new experiences and be humbled by the vastness that surrounds us. A bit of inspiration goes a long way to “Screw it, lets just do it!”

6 Real Travel Stories That Will get you off Your Couch and on the Road!:

  1. New Delhi (Delhi)
  2. Agra (Uttar Pradesh)
  3. London, UK
  4. Spain
  5. China

Kim and Brian are from Oregon. They lived a normal life, bought a home, had well paying jobs, made many friends, joined sports teams, and settled happily their city. They had a fantastic life and were proud of it. Yet, Kim would sit in her cubicle and think about whether this was the life she wanted forever? She dreamt of travelling, had dreams of becoming a writer and wanted to release the pressure of chasing the traditional model of success.

She traded her paycheck life for a life of travel and writing when in 2012 she and Ben sold everything they possessed to see the world.  Together they have travelled to India, climbed the Himalayas in Nepal, fallen in love with Machu Picchu and played with monkeys in the Amazon Rainforest to name a few of their success stories.

Day 2. The "Follow Me" instagram couple, Murad Osmann and Natalia Zakharova

Murad is a Russian Photographer and, in 2012, his Instagram account “Follow Me” went viral after a series of pictures of Natalia leading him onward to exotic spots around the world. The photographs are instantly recognizable and are full of details of the destination they are in. Since then the couple has travelled to multiple locations around the world clicking similar pictures, from Spain, Brazil, New York and India.

Rashmi Koppar, Dr Soumya Goyal and Nidhi Tiwari drove 21, 477 kms through heavy snow, rain and rough terrain from Delhi to London by road! They covered India, Myanmar, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine, Finland, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, France, Belgium and finally England

Taking a sabbatical from their respective jobs, the three drove through many gorgeous nations and immensely beautiful locales, sometimes driving 600km a day! The Mahindra Scorpio car that they drove happens to be the first Indian vehicle to cross the Arctic Circle.

While she graduated and taught english in Spain, Liz fell in love with travel. She then moved to a dead-end office job trying to follow the path that she felt as if she were supposed to be following, in Washigton D.C. Suffocated with the daily grind she decided to pursue writing, she saved up, quit her job  and has been travelling ever since.

She has since travelled much of the world, from the deserts of Jordan to paragliding in New Zealand, she has dived shipwrecks in Bali and Thailand, ridden horses across the high mountains of western Mongolia, slept under the stars on Australia‘s Great Barrier Reef and chased elves in Iceland, not once regretting quitting her job.

Robert was not sure how to live his dream of travelling the world. He did not have the confidence or the finances to undertake his escapade. His chance came in 2009 when he left America and moved to China. From then on he has travelled to more than 50 countries and earns his money by running, Leave Your Daily Hell, a travel blog to inspire, inform, entertain, and empower other would-be escape artistes, like him.

Robert believes that the surest way to make the most out of life is to become more aware of what we share this planet with and to expand our definition of whats  possible. And how do you do that? Travelling!

With a life-long taste for adventure, Megan Sullivan, in November 2014, after being hit by a car during a rock climbing trip in Yosemite, was diagnosed with skin cancer. Most people would have given up on life and begun counting their last days with regret of “I wish I could”. Megan, however, decided to see the  Seven Wonders of the World in thirteen days! On her trip, she saw Chichen Itza, Machu Picchu, the Colosseum, the Taj Mahal, and many more things. She slept on planes and only spent two days in each place, documenting her journey on instagram!
