For all you history buffs out there, Bekal is the perfect place to glimpse into the glorious past of the region. What’s better is the fact that you get a splendid view of the ocean from almost all around the fort! Revel is the intriguing architecture and get the photographer in you going with the marvellous views!

HolidayIQ reviewer Shilpa says, “Bekal is small and relatively unexplored by tourists so far. Go there before everyone else. The beach is amazing and if you stay at Taj Bekal, you will find both sea and backwaters right outside your doorstep. Baikal fort is majestic and offers a spectacular 180 degree view of Indian ocean. The fort was built for defence purposes, so there is no palace around, but it played important role in expanding Tipu Sultan's empire and his trade. Although there aren't many remains, it does tell a tale of its golden days.”

Catch nature at its best amidst the morning fog of the forests watch it weave its magic in the form of lake mist, the choice is yours!

HolidayIQ reviewer Zainab says, “I loved the coffee plantations and the trekking opportunities there. Complete contrast from the cliché that we thought Kerala was - coconuts and backwaters. The noncommercial atmosphere made my holiday truly amazing. It was in fact my honeymoon!”
