Sirpur hides many secrets of a bygone era. An archaeological hotspot, this town has ruins and temples dating back to the 5th and 8th centuries AD. Resting in a time capsule on the Banks of River Mahanadi, Sirpur has a deep connection to Buddhism too. There is an old Shiva temple here which has a festival every year bringing pilgrims from all around the country. The town was also the seat of the Gond Rajas.

2. The majestic Chitrakote falls

38 km away from Jagdalpur in the Bastar district, the River Indravathi widens into 7 streams and drops down a gorge 305 m wide and 95 m high into a horseshoe shaped pool to form this majestic and awe inspiring waterfall. Surrounded by deciduous forests and tribal hamlets, this waterfal is a spectacular sight. The surrounding area is famous for camping and trekking. The monsoon brings this waterfall to its torrential best. 

Malaya: The Indian Niagara. The widest of the Falls in India is a must watch for all nature lovers in our country. The place would be best to visit after the Monsoon. There is a Chhattisgarh Tourism Resort also attached.

Deciduous jungles of terminalia, Sal, Teak and Bamboo with a dense Indian Gaur and sloth bear population characterise the Barnawapara wildlife sanctuary in Chhattisgarh. It is a land mass of undulating terrain dotted with numerous low and high hillocks well forested area of North-eastern corner of Raipur district. These forests are home to the Baiga Tribe.

Really if you want see natural beauty up-close enough within the climes of virgin tribal lands hitherto untapped by tourists and not developed & promoted by the government.

The Bhoramdeo Temple, or the ‘Khajuraho of Chhattisgarh’, is an exquisitely carved  rock temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple was built between the 7th and 11th centuries. A midst the picturesque surroundings of Maikal mountains and dense forests, the perfect blend of religious and errotic sculptures, the Bhoramdeo temple, is carved on the rocky stones in the Nagar style.

Manju: The weather is salubrious; the food is simple and appetizing; the nature is pristine and untouched. Away from the regular holiday crowds, amidst gushing waterfalls and lush greenery, it reminds you of a holiday to your native village when you were young. Even a short trek through this park easily reveals its extraordinary beauty and biodiversity. The monsoons infuse life into the flora and fauna and is a truly spectacular time to visit the park.  

Kalpana: An untouched beauty, visited this jungle in the month of Nov 15. Wow is the word I will vouch for, we could spot wild boar, huge size bison who were just on the way. Lot of peacocks flying displaying wonderful colours jungle fowl. Then we spotted a huge leopard.

An island on the river Shivnath,  Madku Dweep is an island of great natural beauty marked by lush foliage and splendid waterfalls. Ruins of temples, epigraphs, coins and pottery from the 7th and 11th centuries are focus of the archeological excavation here. An ancient hindu temple also draws tourists here

The Tirathgarh Falls is a waterfall at Kanger Ghati in Bastar district, is surrounded by ancient ruins of a bygone era and also the forests of the Kanger Valley National Park. The water here falls from a height of 300 feet and creates a spectacular sight. 

Divyesh: If you happen to go to Jagdalpur its totally worth to visit Tirathgarh once. Very beautiful waterfall on the River Indravati.
