The water of this lake is very clear due to which it appears milky-white from a distance. This lake is also religiously significant to Hindus and Buddhists as its water is said to be blessed by Guru Rimpoche also known as Guru Padmasambhava who was a revered patron saint of Sikkim. The unique feature of this lake is that some of its parts remain unfrozen even during peak winders. HolidayIQ Traveller Ankit says, "The place is holy and gives a breathtaking view with lake frozen into snow. The place has less oxygen, so its difficult to stay for more than an hour. To reach the place, we have to halt in Lachen for night. The travelling from Gangtok is bit hectic but with superb views on the way."

Ladakh, referred by multiple names such as ‘The Last Shangri-la’, ‘Little Tibet’, ‘The Land of Numerous Passes’, ‘The Land of Mystic Lamas’, ‘The Broken Moon’ and ‘Moonscape’ (the Moon Land), is a remote yet popular tourist destination characterised by placid blue lakes, freezing winds, barren landscape and multi-hued mountains. HolidayIQ Traveller Sunny says, "The city offers a great destination for bikers. You can rent your bikes and travel to some of the most beautiful places in the India - pristine lakes, desert mountains, world's highest roads etc.Local food is average though the place has a lot of German and French eating joints. The best way to visit the place is on a bike during June-Aug. One should travel from Manali to Leh and then visit Pangong.Advice to travelers doing biking is to buy protective gear since roads are very tough."

Lovely temple, serene, good sculptures. Great clean maintenance by ASI. Suggest using a guide to explain. Makes the visit richer. Food at AP Tourism is simple, clean and tasty."
