 A privately funded, volunteer-run organization in Costa Rica,  'Land Of The Strays' has over 1000 dogs roaming around the lush hilly landscape! What's even better is the fact that you can become a pawrent by spending some time with the dogs and adopting the one you like!

As if you needed another reason to visit Mount Fuji, there's a giant swimming pool specially made for elephants in the nearby safari park. The pool is about 65 meter long and is maintained by the park authorities. You can spot elephants having the time of their lives here!
