Monuments are epic and explains the Indian glory in the past. Not worth more than a day. Vrindavan garden is a must view. Riders can ride and get back without doing anything and just enjoying the luxury highway from Bangalore to Mysore. Families would spend a good time together. Connectivity to the city is good. 3. Why Wait Forever At Kundanahalli Gate On Your Way To ITPL? Suggest You Drive To Manchanabele Instead

"A last minute decision sent us on our very first trip to Manchinbele dam via the Big Banyan tree. We didn't know what to expect as the roads weren't paved well and the surroundings were sparsely populated. Lake as we emerged out of a curve. It was serene. After a few pics we resumed our journey towards lake. To get to the bank, we had to take a turn into what looked like a farm house or rather a small fishing community. There we had to tip an opportunistic local to be allowed in further. I guess you could take this as an unlikely entry fee.
So, after a short trip we parked our bikes and ventured over the fences towards the lake. Having been warned repeatedly not to enter the lake at any cost, we were wary and complied. Apparently there are strong under currents that can incapacitate even a strong swimmer! So watch out guys! There isn't much to do apart from soaking up the unpolluted air and the tranquil atmosphere. It's a good picnic spot, but keep in mind, there is no restaurant for miles. So be sure to carry light snacks and plenty of water as the short trek to the water's edge can make you crave for a gulp of fresh water. Once we returned, we discovered that somewhere around that area, there's a company offering adventurous activities such as rafting, kayaking, trek with provisions to camp overnight. Be sure to google about it if you're interested. Manchinbele dam should make for a quick getaway from hectic Bangalore traffic on a day with a merciful sun. If you leave early, you could make it back for lunch," says HolidayIQ Traveller Nithin Kumar.

"We planned an impromptu trip to Nandi Hills from Bangalore. Wanted to go see the sunrise but didn't wake up in time. Anyhow, the drive takes about 2 hours (leave early so that you don't get stuck in traffic). The weather was pleasantly chilly and cloudy. We had a great time. The coffee at the top of the hill is great but the food joints can be better. The bungalow on top of the hill is beautiful and well maintained as well," says HolidayIQ Traveller Abhijeet Kamath.
