There are so many adventure destinations in India that will give international holidays a run for their money. Be it trekking up the Siang Valley, angling in Subansiri, skiing at Auli or white water rafting at Mandovi River. Which place do you think will win this time?

BHA 2016 announced Auli as the favourite Adventure Destination of our country.

Here is what HolidayIQ reviewer Aman Rawat has to say, “When it comes to snow clad mountains, nothing can compete to Auli. With the mystical view of Nanda Devi Mountain, this place appears too magical. Snow activities include skiing and there is the biggest ropeway of Asia running from Auli to Joshimath and trust me that too gives a heavenly feel.”

Reason 2: Beach parties and of course, the sea!

India has no shortage of beaches. The party capital Goa pulates all year round while Gokarna is more relaxed, Radhanagar Beach is surreal while Pondicherry is a cultural hotspot. The list is endless. So which beach would you root for this year?

Radhanagar Beach in Andaman and Nicobar was voted as India’s favourite Beach in 2016.

HolidayIQ reviewer Sumeet Samat talks about Radhanagar Beach, “This is the cleanest beach that I have ever visited. The water is crystal clear. There are shacks and seats, including swings around for tourists to relax. Bathroom facilities and food stalls are right at the entry point of the beach. The police monitoring is effective and they ensure that the tourists vacate the beach after sunset. Very well-maintained place.”

Reason 3: Eat, Pray, Love? Let's focus on the pray: Religious tourism

India is a hub of spirituality and religion; drawing travellers from everywhere. For instance, Bodh Gaya for Buddhism and Amritsar's Golden Temple for the Sikhs. Haridwar, Varanasi, the Haji Ali Dargah and Ajmer Sharif Dargah are among pilgrimage spots where thousands flock to every year.

Dwarka’s Somnath Temple was the winner for the favourite Spiritual Attraction at BHA 2016.

HolidayIQ reviewer Suman Sharma shares about Dwarka’s Somnath Temple, “It is the most revered and important religious place for Hindus. I was pleasantly surprised to see how nicely it is maintained by the trust. Clean atmosphere, well maintained lawns surrounding the Great Mandir, aka Jyotirlingam. The trust is doing yeoman’s job. Creating hotels, guest houses at par with any other hotel. Serene religious fervour inside the temple, one can perform a number of pujas as per one's belief.”

Reason 4: Escape into the serenity of nature

India has a very rich and diverse wildlife. Tiger reserves like the Jim Corbett National Park and Kanha in Madhya Pradesh will take your breath away.  The Gir National Park is famed for it's lions, while Kaziranga for their One Horned Rhinoceros. Tough competition don’t you think?

India’s favourite Wildlife Destination 2016 was voted as Dandeli in Karnataka.

HolidayIQ reviewer Preetham Sunny says, “Dandeli was a good experience during our 3-days stay. We were a group of 5 and the early morning wildlife safari was cool and amazing. Rafting was fun. We had also gone for rappelling, kayaking, Jacuzzi Bath, Crocodile Park and few sightseeing places.”

India has so much to offer for every kind of traveller. So who do you think will win this year? Leave your comments below!
