Located near the foothills of the Shivalik range of the Himalayas, Chandigarh shares its state border with Mohali, Patiala and Ambala. Himachal Pradesh's is also minutes away from its north border which has led to the city of Chandigarh to be known as the gateway to Himachal Pradesh.

Sanjeev Nivargi deems Chandigarh as " A Dream City and gateway to Himachal". He adds: “Chandigarh as we read and hear about it is really an ideal city. Most disciplined traffic and traveller friendly design of the city make your visit to this city a memorable experience.”

The rooms were spacious, clean and very well maintained AC, TV, geyser everything were functioning properly. Food quality was good and very tasty. A local transport official by profession, he worked tirelessly without credit or hunger for fame for every day after his day job. He created more than 2000 sculptures using the stones, debris and discarded junk from the 50 odd villages that were leveled to create the city of Chandigarh.

Harpreet Singh from Mohali shares: “A beautiful handcrafted place by Nek Chand's (creator).The place has tile and stone made statues that one can admire and admit that the creator had a vision in his mind to give people something extraordinary.”

Karan Aero chats about his stay at Best Western Maryland Hotel. He says: “It is a great place to stay with family, the food is good and the rooms are quite spacious, surroundings are peaceful and nice ambience. The room are cozy and comfortable, I enjoyed my stay. ”

Known as the resting bed of the Harappan civilization almost 5000 years ago, Chandigarh is still brimming with fossil remains and potsherds, ornaments and copper arrowheads made during the Harappan civilization. These relics and some preserved burial skeletons are part of the Government Museum and Art Gallery.
