The International Film Festival of India(IFFI) is about to start in Goa and will bring some of the best cinema to India. Imagine a staggering 194 films from 88 countries! Add workshops by esteemed directors and movie folks from around the globe to the list of things you can look forward to. Go ahead, make my day!

The festival kicks off on 20th of November and carries on till 28th of November. Panjim is where all sreenings and sessions will take place and the screenings start as early as 8 a.m. and late shows run past 1:30 a.m. Following are the venues where the sceening and workshops will take place:
1. Old Goa Medical College (GMC) Building
2. Maquinez Palace
3. Kala Academy
4. INOX Multiplex
5. Corniche
6. Shyama Prasad Stadium
What's even better is that some of the screenings will be open air depending on the conditions!

Well, you can register as either a deligate under the categories of either film professionals, cine enthusiasts or film students or even as a media professional if you're there to do a job! You can visit the official IFFI site and gather more details about this!

Well, the choice is endless, really. Since it's taking place in Panjim, you can relax and take a tour around the city. However, it is an international movie festival, so you either watch classy world, national or regional cinema or attend talks and workshops by filmmaking legends from around the world.

Well, it's not everyday that you get a chance to enjoy a movie with global stars like Shekhar Kapoor, A.R. Rahman or Dev Patel present in the same theatre as you! The buck doesn't stop here! You'll have a chance to meet and interact with Indian cinema legends too!

You have a golden chance to interact with legends like Theresa Ellis Rygiel(visual effects- X-Men, Lord of the Rings) and have a conversational session with Prakash Jha and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra! Apart fom this, you can also attend workshops conducted by the esteemed Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) on topics such as Foreign language film selection for Oscar Awards! Add to this the food village at IFFI where, at various stalls, you can taste delicacies from around the country!

With so much going on, it's easy to miss out on something you wouldn't want to otherwise. Fret not, for here are some things tat are absolutely unmissable:
1. The stunning opening ceremony of IFFI 2016 is a must  as it has everything you could ask for-  star studded performances, celebrities and more.
2. Interaction with Robert Yeoman, celebrated Cinematographer of The Grand Budapest Hotel.
3. Workshops conducted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
4. The 12 Cannes 2016 winning films including the winner of the prestigious Ballon d’Or “I, Daniel Blake”.
5. Learn the art of editing by Academy winner Alan Heim!
6. Attend the Open Air screenings for movies like Bajirao Mastani and Sholay.
7. Watch the works of legends like Abbas Kiarostami and Andrzej Wajda in the Special Tribute section at IFFI 2016.
8. Watch Korean masterpieces by Sang-ho Yeon, Lee Joon Ik and Zhang Lu. 
9.  Watch the first ever Sanskrit film, Ishti.
10. CHeck out the  Festival Kaleidoscope and Masterstrokes sections for legendary work!
