The festive fervor in Manali begins one month in advance and people make lots of arrangements for the holiday. The ceremonies are an amalgamation of classical rituals, staged dance dramas, the dance of the Ibex deer and lots of music, dance and entertainment for the people.

By Air: The nearest airport is at Bhuntar, located approximately 50 kilometers away, an aerial distance of 128 km.

By Bus: Manali is very well-connected to important tourist destinations like Leh, Shimla, Kullu, Dharamshala and New Delhi by means of a network of state-run as well as private buses.

By Road: You can also choose to drive a distance of 265 km from Shimla.

During Losar, the Ladakhi Buddhists make a sacred offering before their divinities in the native shrines or in the Gompas. A melee of cultural events, ancient rites and traditional performances are presented.

Over the course of the Losar festival in Kathmandu, the Dalai Lama gives a speech and leads other high monks in prayers, rituals, ceremonies, and parades around the Boudhanath Stupa. Monks perform a masked dance which plays out the battle between good and evil and good always triumphs.

In the state of Arunachal Pradesh, the Losar Festival also called as the New Year Festival, is the most important one celebrated in Tawang. it is the occasion when the Monpas feast, drink and make merry. Relatives and friends get together and celebrate this festival in a very ostentatious manner.
