Himachal Pradesh is a land of scenic beauty, grandeur of limitless sky, which overlooks the snow-clad Himalayas. The simplicity of locals, sky touching deodar trees and beautiful monasteries are all magic. My love for hills and valleys started when I was a child and my dream is to explore every village in the Himalayas. Here is the list of amazing five hill stations that we visited.

The blend of lofty hills with crystal, clear flowing water of river Beas kissing the foot of Himalayas, Manali has no shortage of fun-filled activities which includes rafting, paragliding, zorbing. It will not disappoint you, whether you go solo, as a couple or in a family. Some attractions include Manikaran, Marhi, Kasol, Rohtang la.

Named after Lord Dalhousie, the Governor-General of India, Dalhousie is situated on 5 hills at the height of about 1970 meters. The British officials selected this place for leisure and vacation and since then, Dalhousie has become a popular destination. Visit Khajjiar, Kalatop rest house, Kalatop wildlife reserve, Dainkund peak, Ganji Pahari.

What makes Shimla so special, is its lofty snow clad mountains, Jakku temple, Kufri, Green valley, state museum, Indian Institute of Advanced Studies. It still retains the flavour of the colonial era. The UNESCO World Heritage Kalka-Shimla train is a popular attraction other than the Summer festival.

Chamba It is located near the bank of Ravi river. It is also a place for birds lover. The weather is pleasing and heartwarming round the year. Anyone searching for peaceful hill station can opt to pack their bags for Chamba. You should visit Laxmi Narayan temple, Bhuri Singh museum, Rang Mahal, Khalatop wildlife sanctuary, Chamba central park etc.

Surrounded by deodar trees with a beautiful mystic view of mountain ranges and place of Dalai Lama, Dharamshala is a popular place among north Indians and foreigners alike. Don't forget to visit McLeod Ganj, Masrur, Kangra Museum, Kangra fort, Dal lake, Namgyal Monastery, which are some of the most popular attractions here.
